Voting is now live for the Breathe Free Duct Cleaning Athlete of the Week poll

It is time once again for you, the readers, to tell us who you think deserves being named this week’s Breathe Free Duct Cleaning Athlete of the Week.

Last week began the newest format for the Breathe Free Duct Cleaning Athlete of the Week poll, as those entered into the original poll, called Branch County’s Top Performers, faced off in the first round of voting action.

The top four contestants will then move to the final round of the voting, the Breathe Free Duct Cleaning Vote. The current poll is a little different that the Top Performer’s poll in that you can only vote once per hour, each day until Thursday at 5 p.m. Just sign in using your email and you could also receive coupons worth money off certain services that Breathe Free Duct Cleaning, Your Breathe of Fresh Air, provides to its customers.

The Top Performer Poll ran through the weekend and recorded a record number of votes for the new format. So without further ado folks, your nominees for this week’s Breathe Free Duct Cleaning Athlete of the Award are the following:

Boston Bucklin, Bronson boys track- At the Schoolcraft Invite it was Bucklin putting together a solid day, beginning with a win in the high jump with a jump of 5 feet, 10 inches. Bucklin went on to take third in the 800 and second as part of the 3200-relay team. In dual meet action Bucklin took first place in the 400 with a time of 55.29 seconds, first place in the high jump with a jump of 5 feet, 8 inches and first place as part of the 800-relay team versus Maple Valley.

Elli Foley, Coldwater Track and Field: Foley continues her big season down in the pits, beginning with a first-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 37 feet, 3 inches and a third-place finish in the discus at the Loy Norrix Invite. Foley went on to sweep the dual meet wins versus Harper Creek, winning both the shot put and the discus

Nevada Gillons, Union City Track and Field - Gillons swept the hurdle races for the week, taking a pair of wins in the 100-meter hurdles and a pair of wins in the 300 hurdles. Gillons also went unbeaten in the long jump, winning gold at the Union City Invite and winning in dual meet action.

Mya Webb, Bronson Softball: Webb threw a no-hitter in Big 8 conference play this week as the Vikings defeated Union City. Webb also added five hits and three RBIs in a successful week for the Vikings.

Voting begins at 11 a.m. on Tuesday and will run through Thursday at 5 p.m., with the winner being announced online Friday morning and in print on Saturday.
