St. James' Villanueva, Ledet voted this week's Barker Honda Athletes of the Week

The fans have voted for this week's Barker Honda Athlete of the Week awards, with two St. James athletes taking home this week's honors: football player Jakias Villanueva for the boys and swimmer Karli Levet for the girls.

Against Sterlington, Villanueva led the Wildcats to a state championship berth, the only Houma- and Thibodaux-area football team to make it to New Orleans. He scored a touchdown in three different ways - rushing, receiving, and kickoff return - and received 50% of the vote.

Levet raced in the state swimming championship, and helped the St. James girls clinch a 10th-place points finish in Division III as a team. She received 57.8% of the vote.
