Vote for the SouthCoast High School Girls Athlete of the Week for May 6-12
The winner of last week’s Girls Athlete of the Week poll was Apponequet’s Kohana Fontinha. She had more than 2,500 votes (52%) to receive the honor.
Fontinha won her first singles matches against Dartmouth and Seekonk.
Previous winners were Apponequet’s Abby Bradley and Jayleigh Howarth, Bishop Stang’s Sofie Doucet and Old Rochester’s Neva Matos. The winner of the Preseason Girls Lacrosse Player of the Year poll was GNB Voc-Tech’s Casalice Dias. The winner of the Preseason Girls Tennis Player of the Year poll was Old Rochester’s Neva Matos.

GIRLS TRACK
Reagan Flynn, Apponequet
Against Fairhaven, Flynn was fastest in the 100 and 200.
Morgan Hayward, Apponequet
In a win over Fairhaven, Hayward took first in the 400 hurdles and high jump.
Orianna Hernandez, Apponequet
Hernandez came in first in the long jump and triple jump against the Blue Devils.
Peyton Savageau, Apponequet
Savageau won both the shot put and discus against Fairhaven.
Helena Morrison, Bishop Stang
Morrison took first in the high jump and 400 hurdles against Cathedral.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Abby Bradley, Apponequet
Bradley had a combined 18 goals and 13 assists in four straight wins.
Cece Levrault, Apponequet
In four games, Levrault had a combined 22 goals and two assists to lead the Lakers.
Ava Jackson, Bishop Stang
Jackson scored four goals in a win over Archbishop Williams.
Sydney Plouffe, Bishop Stang
Plouffe had four goals and two assists to lead the Spartans past Archbishop Williams.
Madison Goldizen, Dartmouth
Goldizen had a combined eight goals and one assist in two games.
Grace Haskell, Dartmouth
In two games, Haskell had a combined 17 goals and one assist. She recorded her 200th career goal.
Sarah Kelly, Dartmouth
Kelly had a combined six goals and nine assists in back-to-back games.
Sophia Fleurent, Fairhaven
In two games, Fleurent had a combined four goals.
Carlie Francis, Fairhaven
Francis scored six goals in a loss to Apponequet.
Taylor Pearson, GNB Voc-Tech
Pearson had a team-high four goals in a win over Bristol-Plymouth.
McKenna Benoit, Old Colony
Benoit scored four goals against Southeastern.
Abby Pitts, Old Colony
Pitts had four goals in a win over Southeastern.
Caroline Brogioli, Old Rochester
In two games, Brogioli had a combined 10 goals and one assist.
Kelly Quinlan, Old Rochester
Quinlan had a combined 13 goals and one assist in two games.

GIRLS TENNIS
Kohana Fontinha, Apponequet
Not only did Fontinha reach the finals of the SCC individual tournament, she captured first singles wins against New Bedford, Somerset Berkley and Fairhaven.
Annica Dupre, Dartmouth
Dupre won her first singles match against Durfee.
Sabrina Zheng, Fairhaven
Zheng won her second singles matches against Apponequet, Bourne and Diman.
Emma Gibney, New Bedford
Gibney won her first singles match against Brockton.
Neva Matos, Old Rochester
Matos won the individual championship of the South Coast Conference tournament by beating Apponequet’s Kohana Fontinha.
Liz Houdelette and Mari Sudofsky, Old Rochester
Houdelette and Sudofsky won the doubles championship of the South Coast Conference tournament.
Brooklyn Bindas, Wareham
Bindas won her first singles matches against Nauset and Old Rochester to stay undefeated on the season.
