See who readers picked as the Savannah Morning News Fall Sports Athlete of the Week

The Savannah Morning News is having readers weigh in with a poll to to select the Fall Athlete of the Week, with athletes competing in volleyball, cross, country, softball and flag football eligible.

This week Lily McDonald of the South Effingham cross country team was selected as the winner after winning the Honey Ridge 5K at the Farm in Guyton. She took 56.53 % of the vote.

Kenzie Ergle of the South Effingham softball team was second with 35.26 % of the vote and Julian Howard of the South Effingham boys cross country team was third with 3.71 %.

Julia Anastasio, Richmond Hill cross country

The freshman ran a personal best 5K time 18:46.10 to win the Wingfoot Cross Country Classic A race Saturday.

Memphis Rich, Richmond Hill cross country

The senior finished second at the Wingfoot Cross Country Classic A race Saturday covering the 5K course in 15:55.5.

Lily McDonald, South Effingham cross country

The senior came away with the win in the Honey Ridge 5K at the Farm in Guyton with a time of 19:41.16.

Julian Howard, South Effingham cross country

The senior won the Honey Ridge 5K at the Farm boys race in Guyton on Saturday with a time of 16:32.96.

Savannah Davis, Richmond Hill volleyball

The senior had 16 kills, nine digs and a pair of aces as the Wildcats swept St. Vincent's and Savannah Country Day on Wednesday.

Kenzie Ergle, South Effingham softball

The junior went 4 for 5 with an RBI in wins over North Oconee and Creekview on Saturday. She's hitting .403 with 16 RBIs on the season.
