His Big Green football team made back-to-back Elite 8 trips. He was honored with the Male Scholastic Award by the All Sports Association for his philanthropic, academic and athletic success. His weightlifting team won a second straight team title, his gold medal count now four after sweeping the 153-pound traditional and Olympic titles.

And now the three-sport letterman has generated a record amount of votes in 2024 as our newest Athlete of the Week, amassing 35,000 votes to edge teammate Cole Tabb. Flag Football Playoffs: Choctaw status as state title contender affirmed in redemption win over FWB

Girls Tennis Playoffs Niceville rolls to region title. Can fully healthy Eagles win a state title?

Gracie Dennison, Niceville track and field

Dennison was a member of the district championship 4x400m relay team which finished in 3:58.96, won the triple jump with a PR of 36 feet, 2 inches, helped lead the 4x100m relay to a runner-up finish, and finished fourth in the 100m. The Eagles as a team won the district title easily.

Jay Galindo, Niceville track and field

Galindo PR'd in the triple jump with a 47-6.25 distance to help lead the reigning state champion Eagles to a team district title.

Diaris Morales, Choctaw flag football

Morales threw for 190 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another 35 yards in Choctaw's 25-0 shutout win over Fort Walton Beach in the Sweet 16.

Aspen Young, Niceville tennis

Young avenged a district finals loss and helped the Eagles to a 5-0 Region 1-4A championship win over Chiles with a 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (9) victory at the No. 1 singles spot.
