Vote for your NWF Daily News Athlete of the Week!

Track and field, baseball and softball have reached the region tournament phase, and from the district tournaments emerged a slew of Athlete of the Week nominees.

Who'll follow Aspen Young's lead as the latest honoree? That's for you to decide. Included in the mix are a pair of aces, a big bat, an unbeaten tennis player and a mid-distance track star.

Voting is up and runs through Saturday 2 p.m. Vote now, vote often.

High School Spring Football: Choctaw's offense, Niceville's defense and more questions

Chloe Bailey, Niceville softball

The freshman struck out 14 Bulldogs in a 9-0 win over Crestview for the District 2-6A crown. The Eagles host Winter Springs on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Region 1-6A quarterfinals.

Coleman Borthwick, South Walton baseball

The sophomore struck out 11 batters and allowed just three runs in a 5-4 District 1-4A semifinal win over West Florida. At the dish, en route to South Walton winning districts Borthwick combined to go 2-for-5 with two RBIs, a run scored, two walks and a stolen base.

Brendan Cutler, Choctaw track and field

In the District 1-3A championship, the Big Green sophomore won the 800 meters in 2:02.97 and helped the 4x400 (3:21.23) and 4x800 (8:15.06) relays win district crowns.

Audrey Hill, Niceville tennis

The sophomore finished off her 17-0 season with a 2-0 record at state, helping the Eagles to the Final 4.

Ava Smith, FWB softball

The senior ace shut out Gulf Breeze in the District 1-5A championship, scattering three hits and a walk while striking out three in the 1-0 win to advance the 17-10 Vikings to regional play. In the semifinals, an 11-1 victory over Choctaw, Smith struck out nine and allowed one run on three hits and two walks. The Vikings host Fleming Island on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Region 1-5A quarterfinals.
