Vote for Mulligan's Beach House Bar and Grill Athlete of the Week for Sept. 18-23

It's time to vote for the Mulligan's Beach House Bar and Grill Athlete of the Week for competitions during the week of Sept. 18-23 with nine student-athletes in consideration.

Last week, South Fork sophomore setter Brynn Burgk picked up over 30,000 votes and 45 percent of the ballot to earn Athlete of the Week honors.

Helping the Bulldogs enjoy a 4-2 week including a five-set win over previously unbeaten Vero Beach and finishing as the runner-up at the Key West Invitational, Burgk totaled 128 assists in the six matches including a season-high 39 against Vero.

Voting for this week's poll will take place from 10 a.m. Tuesday and will run until 10 a.m. Friday.

For athletes to be in consideration to be nominated, coaches must submit scores to sports reporter Bryan Cooney at bcooney@gannett.com or to TCsports@tcpalm.com each night after games and competitions.

Makena Rodriguez, St. Edward’s

On Sept. 19, Rodriguez collected 21 digs and five aces in a win over Pineapple Cove and on Sept. 21, she finished the match with six aces, 14 kills and 16 digs in a win against Merritt Island Christian.

Alli Buchmeyer, Fort Pierce Central

In two wins for the Cobras for the week, Buchmeyer totaled 18 assists and six digs on Sept. 19 against Martin County and had a season-high 26 assists with 10 digs on Sept. 20 against Benjamin.

Anita Wang, Jensen Beach

Led the Falcons in the team’s victory at the Crutchfield-Hawkins Invitational in Sebring on Sept. 18, shooting a 5-over 77. Wang also shot a 1-over round of 37 for nine holes in a match win over Vero Beach on Sept. 19.

Parker Heaney, Vero Beach

Led his team at the South Florida PGA East Coast High School Championship on Sep. 22-23 with rounds of 2-over 74 and 1-over 73 to finish in a tie for 16th.

Brynn Stoneburg, Jensen Beach

At the TOI at Indian River State College on Sept. 23, Stoneburg won both the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle for the Falcons with times of 1:53.12 and 5:02.57.

Evan Pelletier, Martin County

At the TOI at Indian River State College on Sept. 23, Pelletier won the 50 and 100 freestyle with times of 21.85 seconds and 48.22 seconds for the Tigers.

Evan Dunham, Vero Beach

At the Spanish River Invite on Sept. 23, Dunham ran a new personal best time of 16:14 to finish in 16th overall and help Vero finish in second as a team.

Addison Boyer, South Fork

At the Spanish River Invite on Sept. 23, Boyer ran a strong time of 18:29 to finish second overall and helped the Bulldogs take third as a team.

Ryan Pace, Martin County

On Sept. 21, Pace rolled a 214 game and a 410 series to lead the Tigers to a match win over Jensen Beach.

Angeli Atayde, Vero Beach

On Sept. 21, Atayde led her team to a win over Centennial bowling a 172 game and a 344 series.
