Mackinaw City's Trystan Swanson voted Cheboygan Daily Tribune's Athlete of the Week
MACKINAW CITY – Mackinaw City senior boys basketball player Trystan Swanson has been voted the Cheboygan Daily Tribune’s Athlete of the Week for Dec. 4-9.
Swanson captured 46.06 percent of the total vote, while Onaway senior basketball player Austin Veal recorded 34.23 percent of the vote and took second. Voting began Tuesday morning and closed Thursday night. Over 1,900 votes were cast during the period.
Next week will be the final Daily Tribune Athlete of the Week poll until 2024. Nominees will be revealed on Monday, Dec. 18. Voting will start Monday morning and close Wednesday night.

Gavin Rose, Cheboygan Hockey – Finished with two goals and an assist in a victory at Cadillac.
Sam Schoonmaker, Inland Lakes Boys Basketball – Tallied 26 points and 10 rebounds in a win at Johannesburg-Lewiston.
Trystan Swanson, Mackinaw City Boys Basketball – Netted 20 points in a win at Ellsworth.
Austin Veal, Onaway Boys Basketball – Scored 27 points in a win at Pellston.
Josiah Brabson, Burt Lake NMCA Boys Basketball – Scored his 1,000th career point and finished with 25 points in a win over Boyne Falls.
