The Coloradoan is proud to present our weekly Athlete of the Week series for this high school year, partnering with Blue Federal Credit Union to honor the best Fort Collins-area high school athletes.

There are five nominees every week, and fans can vote every Monday through Wednesday at coloradoan.com/sports/high-school-sports.

As the spring postseason in Colorado is set to arrive in May, here is the 26th edition of the 2023-24 school year for the week of April 14-20.

You can find the ballot at the bottom of the page. Voting is open until 11 p.m. Wednesday each week, with the winner announced on Thursday at Coloradoan.com/sports.

Fans can nominate top-performing athletes (deadline: 11:59 p.m. every Sunday), and the Coloradoan Sports staff will ultimately select the five nominees each week.

Previous winner: Liberty Common freshman named Blue Federal Credit Union Athlete of the Week

If you have nominations for a future Athlete of the Week, please send them via email to ChrisAbshire@coloradoan.com for consideration.

The following athletes are nominated for their performances last week (April 21-27):

  • Abby Ballek, Fossil Ridge girls soccer: The SaberCats' junior had another outstanding week on the pitch, scoring 7 combined goals in wins over Brighton and city rival Fort Collins. Ballek had five goals vs. the Bulldogs and two vs. the Lambkins while adding an assist in each match.

  • Ross Frank, Rocky Mountain baseball: The Lobos' junior was perfect on the mound in a win over city rival Poudre. Frank struck out seven hitters and retired all 15 batters in order during Rocky Mountain's 10-0 win in five innings. He also had 4 RBIs at the plate in a 3-1 week for the Lobos.

  • Faith Galyardt, Rocky Mountain girls tennis: The Rocky sophomore led the Lobos into the 5A semifinals with home dual wins over Arapahoe and Rock Canyon. Galyardt won her No. 1 singles matches with a three-set comeback against Arapahoe and then dominated Rock Canyon's Finley Wiggins (6-1, 6-2) in the quarters.

  • Colton Pawlak, Poudre School District boys lacrosse: The Stars' junior is nominated for a second straight week after another pair of big performances. Pawlak scored 11 combined goals (with 3 assists) over two PSD wins over Ralston Valley and Monarch to extend their win streak to seven matches.

  • Sean Togher, Fort Collins baseball: The Lambkins' senior did it all in a 1-0, extra-inning win over Monarch last week. Togher pitched a complete game shutout on the mound, with just one hit, one walk and eight strikeouts. He also had the game-winning walk-off hit in the eighth inning to win the game.
