It's time to make your choice for the Covert Chevrolet Bastrop Austin-Area Boys Athlete of the Week for April 15-20 McCallum baseball player Sam Stevens was voted the top boys athlete for April 8-13.

This week's list of five nominees is made up of five track-and-field athletes who have qualified for the UIL state meet:

Kebede Kerlin, Round Rock track

Kerlin won the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs at the regional track and field meet to qualify for state in Class 6A

Cameron Morrison, Glenn track

Morrison won the shot put in the regional track and field meet to qualify for the Class 5A state meet.

Edwin Rotich, Rouse track

Rotich took home the gold in the 3,200 at the regional track and field meet to qualify for state in Class 5A

Joseph West, Stony Point track

West took first in the long jump with an impressive leap of 24 feet, 4 3/4 inches at the regional track and field meet to qualify for state in Class 6A

Joseph Wienen, Georgetown track

Wienen won the 1,600 and 3,200 at the regional track and field meet to qualify for state in Class 5A
