Vikings tabbed as a smart dealmaker in 2021 free agency

Minnesota is in the midst of a difficult offseason. The Vikings had to release notable veterans like LT Riley Reiff and TE Kyle Rudolph.

However, the team has also made several moves this offseason that will help it fix issues.

CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin and Jordan Dajani like what the Vikings have done so far. Minnesota received an “A-” grade for what it did in 2021 free agency. Here’s what Benjamin and Dajani wrote:

“Tomlinson is exactly their kind of addition: A big, gap-plugging body for Mike Zimmer’s defense. His presence should help their edge rushing situation, so long as Danielle Hunter actually returns to it. (Patrick) Peterson, meanwhile, is a solid short-term bet.”

Not everyone is a fan of what Minnesota has done this offseason. The Vikings still have needs across the offensive line. And for the past two seasons, Peterson has not been the player he used to be. However, if Peterson can bounce back, this Vikings defense may just be good enough to help the team compete in 2021.
