Vikings share Halloween throwback of Adam Thielen as Randy Moss

Halloween is over, but there’s always room for a good Throwback Thursday.

The Minnesota Vikings combined Wednesday’s festivities with Thursday’s feel-good social media hashtag to share a photo that connects current Vikings receiver Adam Thielen and Hall of Fame receiver Randy Moss.

Thielen pulled on the No. 84 jersey for Halloween, complete with a football, do-rag and even teammate Cris Carter.

Thielen grew up in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, approximately three hours northwest of Minneapolis. He was 7 when Moss entered the league in 1998 with Minnesota, where he spent seven of his 14 NFL seasons. He last played in 2012 and was enshrined in Canton this past August.

Thielen went undrafted in 2013 and entered the league in 2014, yet is in the midst of a record-setting year. He tied Calvin Johnson’s record of eight consecutive 100-yard games and could eclipse it this week against the team Johnson set it with, the Detroit Lions. In fact, the Minnesota Star Tribune is monitoring Thielen’s process in catching Vikings legends, including Moss and Carter.

Instead of going as himself this year, as some athletes did, Thielen left it to the next generation of young dreamers while he took part in a cute couples costume with his wife, Caitlin …

… and a family one with son Asher that left much to be desired.
