Essex 21, BFA-St. Albans 13

E: Griffin Randall (22 carries, 101 yards; 3 catches, 91 yards, TD). Thomas Czaplicki (4 catches, 36 yards, 2 TDs). Brady Botelho (4 catches, 45 yards). Sam Bent (172 passing yards, 3 TDs).

B: Kodee Barratt (12 carries, 59 yards, TD). Parker Daudelin (3 catches, 54 yards, TD). Seneca Durocher (TD pass).

Note: Trailing 13-0 at the break, Essex scored 21 unanswered points in the second half to squash a four-game losing streak and finish the regular season at 4-4. Randall jump-started the rally with a 62-yard catch-and-run TD on a screen pass to open the third quarter. Then Bent connected with Czaplicki on a pair of fourth-quarter TDs, the former to give the Hornets their first lead with 7:12 to play.

FRIDAY'S GAMES

Milton 14, Mount Abraham 13

MI: Brian Scharff (2 TD passes). Matt Zeno (22-yard TD catch). Sam Plouffe (16-yard TD catch).

MA: Jamison Couture (1-yard TD rush).

Note: Scharff's touchdown passes both came in the fourth quarter as Milton staged a 13-0 comeback. After making it 13-7, Milton recovered the onside kick to set up Plouffe's game-tying score. Logan Grimes kicked the extra point for the difference and Hayden Atherton snagged a game-sealing interception with 1:45 to play.

Champlain Valley 21, Middlebury 14

CV: Ollie Cheer (9 for 12 for 171 yards, 2 pass TDs). Jacob Bose (12 carries for 54 yards). Jacob Armstrong (3 catches for 55 yards, 27-yard TD catch, 5-yard TD catch). Asher Vaughn (5-yard TD rush).

M: Gavin McNulty (11 carries for 44 yards, 4-yard TD rush). Tassilo Luksch (11 carries for 66 yards, 9-yard TD rush).

Note: Middlebury (5-3) took over on the CVU (7-1) 17 with 3:47 left in regulation and McNulty added a TD rush a few plays later to pull the Tigers within a touchdown. The Redhawks salted away the game on the ensuing possession with a pair of 16-yard receptions by Dylan Terricciano.

Colchester 14, Mount Anthony 7

C: Sawyer Cyphers (1-yard TD rush). Jordan Lavoie (7-yard TD rush).

M: Asa Reis (8-yard TD rush).

Note: Following Mason Cardinal's interception deep in Patriot territory, Lavoie tallied the short touchdown rush two plays later to break the 7-all tie in the third quarter.

Burr and Burton 27, Brattleboro 8

BB: Jack McCoy (13 of 18 passing, 301 yards, 4 TDs). Seb Dostal (4 catches, 162 yards, 3 TDs). Kaleb Gabert (3 catches, 31 yards, TD). Peyton Gray (10 carries, 76 yards).

Note: McCoy and Dostal connected on TD passes of 64, 39 and 49 yards in the BBA rout.

Fair Haven 58, Mount Mansfield 32

Note: Host Fair Haven opened a 28-0 lead before MMU closed the deficit to 35-24 by the halftime break. In the second half, the Slaters (7-0) pulled away.

Hartford 35, Rutland 6
