Vance Joseph could be this year’s Brian Flores for the Steelers

According to NFL reporter Josina Anderson, the Arizona Cardinals are planning to release defensive coordinator Vance Joseph from his contract. This would give Joseph an opportunity to sign with any team is wants and we think he’d be a great option to take over the Brian Flores role with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Last season the Steelers signed Flores to be a senior defensive assistant and linebackers coach and helped turn the Pittsburgh defense around in the second half of the season. Flores has now moved on to be the defensive coordinator of the Minnesota Vikings and there is a void on the defensive coaching staff.

I realize it’s a long shot since Joseph should have options to return to being a defensive coordinator but it would be a huge get if head coach Mike Tomlin could convince Joseph to come to Pittsburgh for a year before he returns as a head coach in 2024.
