Upstate high school softball Super 25 power rankings as teams reach district finals
Here are the latest Super 25 power rankings for Upstate high school softball teams.
1. Byrnes
Record: 26-3
Previous ranking (April 22): 1
What to know: Byrnes advanced to its Class AAAAA district final without allowing a run against Spartanburg and Blythewood.
2. Palmetto
Record: 19-5
Previous ranking: 2
What to know: Palmetto went 9-1 in Region 2-AAA, earned a No. 1 seed in its district and earned home field in the final with wins against Clinton and Daniel.
3. Belton-Honea Path
Record: 25-3
Previous ranking: 3
What to know: Belton-Honea Path finished just one game behind Palmetto in 2-AAA and also earned home field for the district title game as a No. 2 seed.
4. Woodmont
Record: 15-4
Previous ranking: 5
What to know: Woodmont was 6-1 in Region 1-AAAAA to earn a No. 1 seed in district play and beat Rock Hill before losing to Lexington.
5. T.L. Hanna
Record: 13-5
Previous ranking: 13
What to know: T.L. Hanna beat Fort Mill and Nation Ford in the Class AAAAA playoffs to earn home field in the district championship game.

6. Crescent
Record: 18-4
Previous ranking: 7
What to know: Crescent was one of the strongest No. 2 seeds statewide for district play in the state after finishing second to Pendleton in the region. Crescent beat Union County for home field in the final.
7. Union County
Record: 18-5-1
Previous ranking: 9
What to know: Union County went 8-0 in Region 4-AAA, outscoring league foes 110-8, and lost a second-round district game to Crescent but earned its way back for a rematch in the title game.
8. Woodruff
Record: 12-4
Previous ranking: 20
What to know: Woodruff finished runner-up to Union County in the region but won both of its Class AAA district games as a No. 2 seed to earn home field for the title game.
9. Chesnee
Record: 12-9
Previous ranking: 21
What to know: Chesnee is the No. 1 seed of its Class AA district and won two straight against Abbeville and Fox Creek to earn home field in the final.
10. Pendleton
Record: 13-8-1
Previous ranking: 6
What to know: Pendleton held off Crescent and Daniel to win Region 1-AAA for a No. 1 seed in district but lost to Woodruff in the second round.

11. Daniel
Record: 15-11
Previous ranking: 12
What to know: Daniel finished third to Pendleton and Crescent in league play but was only 1.5 games away from first, Daniel beat Travelers Rest before a loss to Palmetto in districts.
12. Chapman
Record: 16-6
Previous ranking: 14
What to know: Chapman earned a three-way tiebreaker for first place in Region 3-AAA and a No. 1 seed for districts. Chapman lost its opener to No. 4 seed West-Oak but bounced back and beat Chester to stay alive.
13. Travelers Rest
Record: 13-6
Previous ranking: 15
What to know: Travelers Rest got a No. 2 seed for districts after a three-way tie atop Region 3-AAA, lost to Daniel in the first round but beat Daniel in an elimination game.
14. Powdersville
Record: 14-9
Previous ranking: 8
What to know: Powdersville, the third-place team in Region 2-AAA (7-3), lost to Woodruff in the first round of district play but beat Broome to stay alive.
15. Gaffney
Record: 16-9
Previous ranking: 18
What to know: Gaffney finished runner-up to Byrnes in Region 2-AAAAA and won its playoff opener in district play before losing to No. 1 seed Clover.
16. Blacksburg
Record: 14-7
Previous ranking: 23
What to know: Blacksburg was the No. 3 seed in its Class AA district but beat Columbia and then Batesburg-Leesville in the losers' bracket to earn a spot in the final against Saluda.
17. Riverside
Record: 18-6
Previous ranking: 10
What to know: Riverside was given the No. 1 overall seed in the Upstate after going 8-0 in Region 2-AAAA, but the Warriors lost their opener against No. 16 seed Lancaster and were eliminated in the third game by Midland Valley.
18. Greenville
Record: 17-10
Previous ranking: 4
What to know: Greenville finished runner-up to Greenwood (10-0) in Region 1-AAAA but lost its two games in district play to Airport and Riverside.
19. Blue Ridge
Record: 18-8
Previous ranking: 16
What to know: Blue Ridge was part of a three-way tie at the top of Region 3-AAA and got stuck with a No. 3 seed for districts. The Tigers lost to Crescent and Union County.
20. Wade Hampton

Previous ranking: 11
What to know: Wade Hampton was runner-up to Riverside in Region 2-AAAA, got a No. 6 seed among 16 teams in the Upper State bracket, lost its opener and then beat South Aiken to stay alive.
21. Dorman

What to know: Dorman finished third in Region 2-AAAA and lost its playoff opener.
22. Landrum
Record:12-7
Previous ranking: 22
What to know: Landrum was the No. 2 seed in its Class AA district and beat Mid-Carolina before being pushed to the losers’ bracket.

Previous ranking: 19
What to know: Hillcrest finished third in Region 1-AAAAA behind Woodmont and T.L. Hanna, got a No. 3 district seed and beat Spartanburg in an elimination game.

What to know: High Point went 6-0 in Region 1-A for a No. 1 seed in its district and lost a game but made it to the championship at McBee.
