Twitter reacts to Texans drafting LSU CB Derek Stingley No. 3 overall in 2022 NFL draft
The Houston Texans picked former LSU Tigers cornerback Derek Stingley with the No. 3 overall selection in the 2022 NFL draft on Thursday.
The Texans picked up a cornerback to be a star in coach Lovie Smith’s patented Tampa 2 scheme.
Although Stingley only played in three games last season due to a Linsfranc injury in his foot, the former Bayou Bengal had a stellar freshman year in 2019 that is the basis for his potential as a dominant cornerback in the NFL.
With the Texans using their initial pick among two first-round selections in the 2022 draft to take a cornerback, Twitter was full of reactions. Here are among the best.

Even at 3 if Derek Stingley Jr. can stay healthy the Texans got a steal. The 2019 NCAA Champ version of Stingley as a true freshman was the best college corner I've ever seen. Different gamble than Walker at 1, Stingley's already done it, just wish it wasn't 3 seasons ago.
