TUF 16 Episode 3 Hits Series Low in TV Ratings, but Still Doing Well in Key Demographic

Three episodes into its second season on FX, The Ultimate Fighter seems to be in the midst of a reset in terms of what to expect from the show’s TV ratings.

Case in point, Friday night’s TUF 16 episode 3 drew an average audience of 775,000 viewers for the one-hour broadcast, according to industry sources. That marks the lowest audience in the history of the series.

The two seasons on FX are notably the first two seasons that the show has aired on Friday nights, a notoriously difficult night to draw large audiences.

While episode 3’s 775,000 viewers was the lowest in series history, it was still enough to place the show at No. 2 in its target demographics of Men 18-49 and M 18-35.

UFC president Dana White has admitted that he isn’t a fan of the dwindling viewership, but maintains that Fox officials consider the series a “home run” because it is marking well in its target demographics on the night.
