Triplett and Idom connect for 3 scores as Christian Heritage fends off visitors from North Carolina

Oct. 20—In a break between two Region 7-A DII games, Christian Heritage had a happy homecoming.

The Lions defeated visitors from North Carolina, Asheville Christian, 48-33 Friday night.

Carter Triplett tossed five touchdown passes and ran for another as Christian Heritage (3-5, 0-1 Region 7-A DII) got out to a 20-7 lead after the first quarter and never gave it up against Asheville Christian (2-6).

Triplett connected with Charlie Idom for three of those touchdown passes, including the first two scores of the game. The QB later hit Jackson Locke and Dontae Crowder for scores.

Triplett also had a rushing touchdown, as did Thailan Christopher.

Triplett totaled 297 passing yards and the Lions combined to rush for 232 yards.

Christian Heritage made the trip to North Carolina last year in the first game of the two-season series and left with a 56-6 victory.

The Lions host Mt. Zion on Friday night at 7:30.
