Tony Vitello recaps Vols’ series-opening win at Georgia

No. 16 Tennessee (32-14, 12-10 SEC) defeated Georgia (25-21, 8-14 SEC), 12-3, Friday at Foley Field in Athens, Georgia.

Friday’s contest is the first of a three-game series between the Vols and Bulldogs.

Andrew Lindsey started for Tennessee and pitched four innings, recording one strikeout.

Christian Moore (2) and Zane Denton hit home runs for the Vols.

Following the Georgia series, the Vols will have eight regular-season games remaining. The SEC Tournament will be held May 23-28 at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in Hoover, Alabama.
