Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy interactive golf league adds top 10 golfer to complete Bay Area team

TGL has added another top 10 player.

The Palm Beach Gardens-based interactive golf league headed by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy revealed The Bay Golf Club today, which included the addition of 24-year-old Ludvig Åberg.

Aberg has risen to No. 6 in the Official World Golf Ranking since turning professional in June. He won his first PGA Tour event in November at the RSM Classic where he shot back-to-back rounds of 61 on the weekend to finish at 29-under-par, and was runner-up at the Masters last month, his first major. Aberg was 4 strokes behind winner Scottie Scheffler.

Born in Sweden, Aberg recently moved to Tallahassee, where he lives with friend and former Florida State golfer Vince Norrman. He plays at Seminole Legacy Golf Club and practices at times with the FSU men's golf team. Aberg played for about a year at Texas Tech before returning home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aberg joins a team that includes world No. 3 Wyndham Clark, Jupiter's Shane Lowry and rising star Min Woo Lee. The team is owned by former Milwaukee Bucks owner, Marc Lasry. His group includes Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Andre Iguodala.

"We are looking forward to the launch of TGL in January 2025, and we are using this year to build excitement, energy, and passion for our team and the league,” Lasry said.

Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, the team includes three participants in last year's Ryder Cup, Aberg and Lowry from the winning Europeans and Clark from the U.S. Additionally, it reaches global fan bases with players from the US, Sweden, Ireland and Australia.
