Three Comets make All-NLC volleyball first team

It was another dominant conference season on the volleyball court for the Mackinaw City Comets.

The Comets captured their third consecutive Northern Lakes Conference crown, going undefeated in league play.

Following the season, several Comets were recognized as part of the All-NLC volleyball team.

Leading the way for Mackinaw City was the junior trio of Madison Smith, Marlie Postula and Larissa Huffman, who each made the All-NLC first team. Smith and Huffman were two of the top hitters on the Mackinaw City squad, while Postula had a strong campaign as the team's setter.

The All-NLC second team featured Raeann Hingston and Ella House, a pair of players who were also highly instrumental in Mackinaw City winning another conference trophy.

Rounding out the Comets on the NLC team was Julia Sullivan, who earned honorable mention accolades.

Joining Smith, Huffman and Postula on the NLC first team were Boyne Falls' Madison Loper and Riley Zbacnik, as well as Harbor Light's Alaina Roush.

Boyne Falls' Cheyanne Sayles, Burt Lake Northern Michigan Christian Academy's Olivia Irish, Wolverine's Maggie Nelson and Harbor Light's Delany Duran each made the NLC second team.

Rounding out the team with honorable mention nods were Ellsworth's Avery Strange, Lexie Montgomery, Molly Muadore, Maddie Zipp, Bobbie Paalman and Anabell Bartman, Alba's Emma Dow and Kyra Goff, Burt Lake NMCA's Lauren Vest and Jillian Chaskey, Wolverine's Alivia Doss and Stormee Skinner, and Alanson's Ella Pressler.
