What They're Saying about Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill, linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel

The Miami Dolphins are hoping for a December to remember and they started it by routing the hapless Washington Commanders on Sunday.

Despite their 9-3 record, the critics will continue to harp on their opponents until they beat a team with a winning record.

Still, the national media has noticed and here is the latest version of What They're Saying:

Tyreek Hill continues to get the MVP love

His two-TD performance vs. the Commanders and his chase of the NFL's first 2,000-yard reception season continues to attract attention. A lot of attention.

Peter King and Phil Simms both say Hill is a legitimate MVP candidate.Said King, writing in his Football Morning in America: “The unstoppable one buttressed his MVP case in Washington with 78- and 60-yard touchdown catches from Tua Tagovailoa, his biggest grabs in a five-reception, 157-yard day at the moribund Commanders.”

Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill must have been asking Commanders offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy what the Washington coaching staff was thinking letting their defensive backs cover him 1-on-1.

Added Simms:  “The MVP of football, Tyreek Hill. I don’t know what Washington's thinking, they left him man-to-man all game long like they didn’t realize he’s on a record-breaking pace this year ... You leave this guy one-on-one, he is a human highlight reel.”Simms was not done.

"The Dolphins, they get you going with reverses, Raheem Mosterton the outside, and then all of a sudden they hit you with something down the field. And nobody hits you with something down the field better than No. 10 of the Miami Dolphins. We’ve never seen a receiver as fast as Tyreek Hill ... He’s a special football player. He’s my pick for MVP right now.”

“Van Ginkel makes two or three plays every game that make you say, Why isn’t he more respected?" King said. "He leaped and smother-intercepted a pass from Sam Howell in the first quarter, returning it 33 yards for a touchdown. He had two quarterback hits and another pass defended in the Dolphins’ rout.”

Added former Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett, part of NBC's "Football Night in America"leading into coverage of the Chiefs-Packers game, along with Simms: “You have no chance if Van Ginkel is intercepting passes and running them back. When they have so many weapons on the other side of the ball, you’re in trouble.”
