Tennessee deputy AD Monica Lebron leaving, per internal email from Danny White

Tennessee deputy athletics director Monica Lebron will leave her position, according to an internal athletics department email obtained by Knox News.

"I wanted to provide you with an update on a departure from our executive team," athletics director Danny White wrote in an email to UT head coaches and his executive team on Monday.

"In professional development discussions with Monica over the summer, we realized that the next best step for her career growth was to seek new opportunities and challenges outside the University of Tennessee Athletics Department."

In the email, White said Lebron would remain employed by UT through the end of December.

Monica Lebron served as Tennessee deputy athletics director from 2021-23. She was the lead administrator of football and men's basketball.

Lebron came to UT in 2021 shortly after White was hired as athletics director. She served as deputy AD of championship resources.

During her tenure, Lebron shared administrator duties for UT football and men’s basketball. And she oversaw the launch of UT athletics’ strategic plan in summer 2021.

Before coming to UT, Lebron served as deputy AD/chief operating officer at Tulane for five years. She was also an associate AD at Ole Miss and Georgia, assistant AD at Cal and athletic department staffer at Florida.
