Sunday Night Football: Jordan Love, Packers fend off Chiefs in front of Taylor Swift for 27-19 win

Taylor Swift’s run is over.

The Green Bay Packers, thanks to a great night from Jordan Love and a game-sealing interception from Keisean Nixon, got past the Kansas City Chiefs 27-19 on Sunday night at Lambeau Field. It marked the first time in five games this season that the Chiefs have lost in front of Swift, who was sitting in a suite at Lambeau Field with Brittney Mahomes and others.

Love and the Packers got off to the perfect start on Sunday night. They mounted a 13-play, 75-yard drive to open the game that ended with a 1-yard touchdown pass to Ben Sims to give them the early 7-0 lead. By halftime, they were up 14-6 after holding the Chiefs to just a pair of field goals and Love finding Christian Watson for a 9-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

Finally, though, the Chiefs responded. Kansas City opened the second half with a long drive capped with an Isiah Pacheco touchdown run to get within two points. Love answered with a 12-yard pass to Watson again after dropping in a wild long ball to Romeo Doubs.

But Mahomes got the Chiefs on the board again right away. He hit Noah Gray for a 2-yard score to get within two points yet again early in the fourth quarter. Though the Packers got down into scoring position, the Chiefs got one last big stop to force the field goal. That set up what looked like the start of a game-winning drive, but Nixon spoiled it with the game’s lone turnover.

From there the Packers ran down the clock, drilled a 48-yard field goal and then got one last stop in a very chaotic final drive to secure the eight-point win in Green Bay.

Love finished throwing 25-of-36 for 267 yards with three touchdowns in the win for the Packers. A.J. Dillon had 73 yards on 18 carries, and Doubs finished with 72 yards on four catches. Christian Watson had 71 yards on seven catches, though he left early due to an apparent hamstring injury late in the fourth quarter. The win pushed the Packers to 6-6 on the season.

Mahomes went 21-of-33 for 210 yards with a touchdown and an interception for the Chiefs. Pacheco, who was ejected in the final minutes for throwing a punch, had 110 yards on 18 carries, and Travis Kelce had 81 yards on four catches.
