Stephen Jackson brought a globe to All-Star media day to goof on Kyrie Irving

It was a year ago today that the world learned Kyrie Irving believes the Earth is flat.

That revelation from Irving was one of many, um, interesting comments during his appearance on the Road Trippin’ podcast, hosted by Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye, his teammates with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

A lot has happened since then. The Cavs lost to the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals and Irving subsequently forced his way out of Cleveland. He landed with the Boston Celtics via trade and this weekend will play in his fifth All-Star Game on a team captained by another former teammate, LeBron James.

But before Sunday’s game, Irving took part in All-Star media day Saturday in Los Angeles. Longtime NBA player Stephen Jackson, now with ESPN, couldn’t help but troll Irving.

Yeah, Jackson brought in a globe to the press conference and tried to get it autographed by Irving. Too funny.

Irving has been steadfast in his various beliefs, though he has seemed to walk back the flat Earth theory a bit. Still, he had a sense of humor about the whole thing with Jackson, and agreed to autograph the globe off camera.

It’s the second time he’s caught some lighthearted grief about it this week. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the host gave Irving a basketball with the globe painted on it.

Maybe he can autograph that ball, which is round like the Earth, too.
