ND downs B-R at High Pointe

BICKNELL — North Daviess' Coby Loheider easily took the medalist spot on Thursday in a five-way golf match at High Pointe in Bicknell.

Loheider shot 34 to lead ND to a 173 and beating Barr-Reeve's 179. Also playing was Clay City (211), Shoals (214) and Linton (221).

Also scoring for ND was Lance Stoll with a 43, Nicklaus Fine with a 46, Max Toy with a 50 and a pair of 52s from Jaris Neideffer and Colin Lengacher.

Barr-Reeve shot 179 getting three 44s from Cam Knepp, Isaac Knepp and Lincoln Wagler. Levi Traylor added a 47, Chezney Sullivan shot 49 and Jacoby Yody shot 51.

Shoals was led by Lucas Howell with a 47.

Lady Hatchets shutout by SK

The Washington Lady Hatchet softball team (4-8) lost to South Knox on Thursday, 4-0 in seven innings.

WHS had three hits, as Braleigh Armes, London Gilley and Hayleigh Cummins all had hits.

Gilley pitched for WHS and cave up just one earned run, struck out six and gave up just four hits.

Cougars take 2nd at Cypress Hill

VINCENNES — The North Daviess Cougars golf team was second at Cypress Hill on Wednesday in a 3-way match with Rivet and Washington Catholic.

Rivet won with a 178, while ND shot 195 and WC added a 249. Rivet also produced the medalist with Parker Steiniger shot 39.

ND's Coby Loheider was second overall with a 40, Lance Stoll added a 46, Max Toy shot 53 shot 53, while Collin Lengacher added a 56 and Jaris Neideffer shot 67.

WC (249) was led by Ethan Armstrong with a 47, while Shawn Flynn shot 65, Xavier Hovel shot 68 and Jace Hammer added a 69.

Lady Vikes lose to Vincennes

VINCENNES — The Barr-Reeve softball team lost to Vincennes Lincoln on Wednesday, 4-1.

B-R scored its lone run in the top of the seventh. B-R had five hits, with Kirra Stoll getting two, Hallie Knepp, Natalie Stoll and Kennedy Huff with one each. Huff pitched all six innings, gave up four runs and eight hits.

Lady Hatchets lose to PC

At the Sports Complex, Washington (4-7) was not able to break out of its rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up its fourth straight defeat. They fell victim to the Pike Central Chargers, 20-3 in five innings.

Senior Hayleigh Cummins had two hits, while Liberty Holtsclaw, who went 1-for-2 with an RBI. Grace Hickey had a hit and Lizzie Howell also had a hit and an RBI.

In the circle, Kiara Welsh started and gave up eight runs, Mia Humphries gave up eight and took the loss, while Katie Reed pitched the final two innings, gave up four, but only one was earned. Lexie Oynett picked up the win for the Chargers.

They were led by Oynett with five RBIs, Brailey Mills with four, and Macy Stillwell who was 4-5. Karley Kavanaugh scored four times for the 4-9 Chargers, who have now won three straight.

ND wins at Linton

LINTON — The North Daviess Cougars posted a 4-1 at Linton on Wednesday.

ND needed just five hits as they took advantage of three Linton errors. The Cougs scored one run in the third and three in the sixth.

Zach Stoll had a pair of hits, while Tyler Stoll, Will Wagler and Coltyn McNabb also hit safely.

Zach Stoll went the distance and struck out 11 to pick up the win, all while scattering six hits.

ND is now 6-3 and 3-1 in the SWIAC. They face Lincoln on Friday.
