Sports Recap: Coldwater Golf travels to Onsted, Foster finishes third

ONSTED – The Coldwater Cardinal golf team traveled to Onsted on Tuesday to compete in the Onsted Invitational.

Coldwater put together a solid effort and finished in 10th place out of 14 teams with a score of 368. Tecumseh won the event with a score of 322 while Parma Western finished in second place with 330.

The Cardinals were paced on the day by freshman Dracyn Foster who carded a solid score of 78, which was good enough for third place overall on the day.

Also shooting well for Coldwater was Talan Eberts with a 91; Cooper Nelson with a 99; Jake Fosdick with a 100; and Rayce Johnson with a 103, rounding out the Coldwater scoring.

Coldwater tennis falls to perennial Interstate 8 power Parma

COLDWATER – The Coldwater Cardinal tennis team fell to the top team in the Interstate 8 conference Parma Western by the score of 7-1 on Monday.

Janet Rucker secured the only win for Coldwater on the day, as Rucker claimed the No. 1 singles flight by scores of 6-1 and 7-6.

Bronson tennis drops nailbiter to Onsted

BRONSON – The Bronson Viking tennis team dropped an absolute nailbiter to Onsted on Tuesday, falling by the score of 5-3.

Securing wins for Bronson were Villasan at No. 1 singles who won by scores of 7-6 and 6-4; Aleah Brackett over Miller at No. 2 singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-1; and Wyant at No. 3 singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-1.

Onsted swept the doubles flights, meaning the match came down to No. 4 singles, which saw Bronson’s Francom facing off with Onsted’s Kurowski. Kurowski won the first set 6-3 and was winning in set two 6-5 before the rain came down, calling the match before the official finish.
