Michigan State is one of nine schools still in the running for a big-time small forward recruit in the 2023 class.
Devin Royal of Pickerington, Ohio revealed his top nine schools list on Monday, which included Michigan State. Joining the Spartans on Royal’s list was Alabama, Clemson, Marquette, Michigan, Miami (FL), Ole Miss, Ohio State and Penn State.
Royal is ranked as the No. 76 overall prospect and No. 14 small forward in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2023 class. He’s also listed as the No. 2 player from Ohio in the class.
It is great to see Michigan State make Royal’s top schools list. It is also not terribly surprising since he has been a massive target for the program. Hopefully, Michigan State will remain in the hunt until the end and land his commitment.
