Social media reacts to Colorado’s offensive struggles against Oregon State
At least so far, Pat Shurmur’s promotion to co-offensive coordinator hasn’t paid dividends for Colorado in its homecoming game against Oregon State.
The Buffs managed only 52 total offensive yards in the first half — 41 through the air and 11 on the ground. To make matters worse, quarterback Shedeur Sanders clearly hasn’t recovered physically from the beating he took last week at UCLA.
The lone bright spot has been Colorado’s defense, which produced two turnovers, three sacks and four TFLs in the first half. However, after allowing a late Oregon State touchdown, the Buffs entered their locker room down 14-3.
Here’s what social media is saying about Colorado’s offensive struggles:
#CUBuffs offensive line certainly isn't much of a disaster as it was last week, but still not resulting in efficient offense on the whole. Buffs punt for the third time in four drives and have just 42 yards so far (2.1 per play).

The Buffs are no longer an air raid, gun slinging offense. This Shurmur system is much slower and more methodical. The Buffs have traded in some of their explosiveness, but this new system will be much less taxing on the offensive line. Thoughts?

Buffs need to figure something out on offense.

Buffs fans are booing less than two minutes into the game at Pat Shurmur’s offense lol

Shedeur has to read that better. It’s a all out blitz, go to your first read for a jump ball in the Redzone

Shedeur can be better than that… he’s gotta hit Jimmy Horn there.
It’s a hard throw but he’s good enough to hit that

Woah didn’t know Coach got rid of the oc. It was time. Pat Shurmur wasn’t there just to be an “analyst”

A little of this was bad luck with Hankerson slipping with open field ahead of him. Still, last #CUBuffs drive featured three completions good for minus-11 yards

Shedeur Sanders is 3-for-3 for minus-11 yards on this possessions. His completions – all to running backs – have gone for minus-3, minus-6 and minus-2 yards. #cubuffs

Shedeur has missed some throws tonight. Body language isn’t great. Neither are the vibes. He’s pretty hurt.

Pretty happy with our D.

The Buffs punt. Again. That's the fourth time already tonight. We only have 49 yards of total offense with two minutes left in the first half. This dink and dunk approach clearly isn't working.
