Social media reacts: Clemson starting wide receiver to enter the transfer portal
The transfer portal has become a major part of college football over the past few seasons with teams across the country losing multiple key players as they look to depart their programs for a fresh start or new opportunities.
The latest to do so, may come as a shock to many. Clemson starting wide receiver Beaux Collins announced Thursday morning that he intends to enter the transfer portal, ending his time with the Tigers. Collins had 38 receptions for 510 yards and three touchdowns this season, operating as one of the Tigers’ top wide receivers.
“To my friends and teammates, I am forever grateful for all the relationships that we’ve built over the years and all the memories we share together,” Collins said.
Here is a look at how Twitter/X reacted to Collins entering the portal.

I’m a big Beaux Collins fan. Former 4 star recruit who runs clean routes and makes big plays. Future NFL wide receiver who will now enter the transfer portal. https://t.co/kBrh0dQGFG

WR Beaux Collins transferring (per ESPN report just now) is going to hurt Dabo Swinney's argument that Clemson football hasn't lost a true starter to the portal. Makes some sense, though, with two big-time WR recruits coming in next year (5-star Bryant Wesco, 4-star TJ Moore)

From Game 5 to end of 2021 season, Clemson's leading WR was true freshman Beaux Collins.
In 2022, Clemson's leading WR was true freshman Antonio Williams.
In 2023, Clemson's leading WR was true freshman Tyler Brown.
Since mid-2021, true frosh are responsible for 42% of…

Beaux Collins had his best season this year but he WR3 at best on our team. AW0 & TB6 both better than him. He ain’t no real difference maker. Good role player tho

The question with Beaux Collins' departure:
Does Clemson think highly enough of the youngsters in the WR room to stand pat — a list that currently includes Brown, Williams, Turner, Hanafin, Kelley, and Johnson and incoming recruits Wesco and Moore?
Or do they got portaling?

Best Wishes to Beaux Collins . Hate to see him leave. Hopefully he can stay healthy.
