Sixers sign then waive Sekou Doumbouya, Aminu Mohammed for Blue Coats

The Philadelphia 76ers are still beginning to look ahead to the future as they are currently planning on contending for a title, but they also have to be sure they are stockpiled with young players for the future.

The Sixers have been signing and waiving a series of players in order for them to join their G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats, and on Saturday they did the same thing with two other young prospects.

Philadelphia signed former No. 15 overall pick Sekou Doumbouya and undrafted guard Aminu Mohammed and then waived them in order for them to join the Blue Coats. Doumbouya has NBA experience with the Detroit Pistons and the Los Angeles Lakers and Mohammed was on Philadelphia’s summer league team.

Doumbouya has career averages of 5.6 points and 2.8 rebounds and Mohammed averaged 13.7 points and 8.2 rebounds as a freshman while at Georgetown. They will be looking to make an impact with the Blue Coats and eventually earn another shot in the NBA.
