BC High baseball no-hits state champ: South Shore H.S. top performers for April 8-14

The spring high school sports season is now in full swing.

After some cold and rainy days, the weather has been more cooperative this week and teams are taking full advantage.

Sunday, April 14

BASEBALL

Braintree defeated North Quincy, 8-6. The Wamps had 11 hits, led by Nick Rucky (2-for-2, 4 RBIs) and Ryan Canavan (2-for-3, RBI). Connor Grieve got the win with Jack Titley earning a save. For NQ, Max Gaudiano had 3 hits, a home run and 4 RBIs in the loss.

Saturday, April 13

Softball

Taylor Marino pitched a complete game with 10 strikeouts in Oliver Ames' 8-4 loss to Attleboro. Ava Tracia went 2-for-2 with 2 runs.

Lily Berman (4 hits, 2 runs, RBI), Madi Delano (3 hits, 2RBIs), Talia Faria (2 hits, 2 RBIs) and Olivia Roy (triple, single, 2 runs, RBI) led the way offensively in Bridgewater-Raynham's 9-3 win over Plymouth North.

BASEBALL

In Abington's 10-5 win over Weston, Steve Madden picked up his first win of the season while Pat Cummings (2 hits, 3 RBIs) and Ryan Solimini (2 hits, 2 runs) led the way offensively.

BC High's Liam Kinneen (5 innings) and Brady Lane (2 innings) combined for a no-hitter in an 8-1 win over defending Div. 1 state champion Taunton. Cole Bohane went 2-for-4 with a home run and 4 RBIs.

Pembroke's Cam Fryar and Nate Hackett each had 3 hits in Pembroke's 17-7 win over Cohasset. Logan Schipper earned the win with 3⅔ innings of shutout relief.

Max MacEachern earned the win in Hull's 15-6 victory over Blue Hills. Luke Dunham had an RBI triple while John Reynolds and Nate Tiani each had 2 hits.

BOYS LACROSSE

Jake McGuirk (2 goals, 4 assists), Oliver Rice (4 goals) and Joe McCarthy (3 goals, 13-for-16 on faceoffs) led Norwell to a 14-1 win over Westford Academy.

Friday, April 12

BASEBALL

Scituate's Jacob Kingsbury hit a tying home run in the bottom of 6th inning, and Ayden Lisi and Carter Theriault followed with back-to-back triples as the Sailors (4-0) rallied to beat Plymouth South, 4-3. Winning pitcher Mikey Kostek struck out 9 over 6 innings, and Parker Freedman finished up for the save. South's Colin Ducie struck out 8 over 6 innings and was 2-for-4 at the plate, and Jayson Ruehs was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Weymouth's Matt Suplee struck out 4 over 5 innings to earn the decision in an 8-4 win over Brockton. Andrew Daley and Alex Munchbach had 2 hits each for the Wildcats (2-3), and J.J. Mannion and Johnny Pires each drove in a pair of runs.

Oliver Ames' Jake Willard homered in a 5-1 loss to Attleboro. Andrew Whiteside pitched 6 strong innings for the Tigers, and Pat DeLoughrey picked up his first varsity hit.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Cohasset's Janet O'Carroll made 13 saves, and Avery Regan had 5 goals and 2 assists in a 16-9 home win over Weymouth. Aine Norton (4 goals), Reese Hansen (3 goals) and Kate Greer (goal, 3 assists) also starred for the Skippers (3-0).

Oliver Ames' Kayla Isleib scored 5 goals, and Kit Perron and Erin Cottam each had 3 assists in a 17-10 win over Middleboro. Jessica Perry scored 4 goals in the loss.

South Shore Tech's Sophie Bovill (hat trick) and Sofia Grasso (2 goals, 2 assists) starred in a 9-2 win over East Bridgewater that pushed the Vikings' record to 5-0. Lilia Fagundes scored both of EB's goals.

Duxbury's Gabby Fisher scored the winner late in an 8-7 victory over Westwood.

BOYS LACROSSE

Duxbury's Zach Falls scored 4 goals, and Sam Wien, T.J. Pikul and Will Savery each added 2 goals in a 12-8 win over Longmeadow.

Archbishop Williams' Jackson McClay had a hat trick, and Henri Barriere scored twice in a 7-6 win over Arlington Catholic.

Bridgewater-Raynham's Colin Carfagna scored twice, and Shaun LaCivita made 9 saves, but the Trojans (4-1) fell to Mansfield, 7-6.

Pembroke beat East Bridgewater, 12-3, to improve to 4-2 on the season.

Southeastern's Peyton Volz (6 goals, 3 assists) starred in a 14-5 win over Upper Cape. Brendan Cooper and Colton Penticost each had hat tricks, and Sean Pechulis added 2 goals. Jacob Gillis made 9 saves.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

BC High's Liam Poole hit 0.571 with 9 kills, and James Shriver added 18 digs in a 3-1 win over Cambridge Rindge & Latin.

North Quincy blanked Malden, 3-0.

Quincy topped Taunton, 3-1.

BOYS TENNIS

Hingham swept the singles matches with Ethan Warhaftig, Eric Li and Evan Lynch in a 5-0 victory over Plymouth North. The Harbormen (4-0) also won both doubles matches with the teams of Brady Gannon/Logan Price and Ryan Chang/Sergio Munoz. It was Gannon's first varsity win.

Thursday, April 11

GIRLS LACROSSE

Stoughton defeated Taunton, 19-8, to record the program's first-ever varsity win.

Grace Maroney (seven goals), Caroline Connolly (five goals, three assists) and Madeline Packard (three goals) led Hingham to a 17-5 road win over Scituate. Haylen Wilson (one goal), Ryan Hallisey (one goal), Neely Sgobbo (two assists), Liv Daley (one assist), goalie Lily Samoska (six saves), Reese Pompeo and Chase Boles played well in the win.

Megan Doyle became Weymouth's all-time leading scorer with 367 career points as the Wildcats earned a 16-8 victory over Braintree. Doyle, who became the girls basketball program's career points leader this winter, finished the game with seven points, 12 draw controls, three caused turnovers and four ground balls. Kendall Rogers (four points), Mira Flaherty (three points, four draw controls), Lily Krawciw (two points) and Maddie Taylor (two points) also played well for Weymouth in the win.

Rhianna Plummer and Grace Meikle, both first-time varsity goal scorers, were among the eight Cardinal Spellman players to find the back of the net in a 14-3 win over East Bridgewater. Goalies Ava Smith and Mariah Strong combined for Cardinals' win. Jenny Francione (two goals) and Abby O’Connor scored, and Charlotte Wilcox made 14 saves for the Vikings.

Emily Keefe (4 goals, 1 assist) led Bridgewater-Raynham in a 17-10 loss to Attleboro. Audrey Lambert (2 goals), Lexi White (1 goal, 1 assist) had multiple points for the Trojans. Kate Lambert, Emily Long, and Grace LaRose scored and Izzy Rossi had an assist.

Hanover's Ayla McDermod tallied her 100th career point in a 7-5 win over Whitman-Hanson. Eva Kelliher contributed three goals to the victory.

Marshfield defeated Quincy, 14-6.

BOYS LACROSSE

Brendan Rosher and Braeden Silva each had hat tricks as Bridgewater-Raynham secured a 14-3 win over Old Rochester.

East Bridgewater's Cylas Hickey scored four goals in a 7-6 loss to Cardinal Spellman. Connor Kingman and Collin Brown also found the back of the net for the Vikings.

BC High erased a four-goal deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat Xaverian, 12-10.

Patty Browne (two goals, two assists) led Hingham to an 8-3 win over Scituate. Will Robinson, Charlie Hartwell and Dolan Floyd scored for the Sailors in the loss.

Connor McCarthy (two goals), James Whitman (two goals), Finn Olszewski, Domenic Visocchi and Luke Tropeano scored in Whitman-Hanson's 10-7 loss to Hanover. David MacNeil made 14 saves for the Panthers.

Walpole defeated Milton, 11-9.

Duxbury defeated Quincy/North Quincy, 19-2.

Pembroke defeated Plymouth North, 9-5.

Sandwich defeated Middleboro, 14-0.

BASEBALL

Connor Bagnell struck out nine in a complete game effort as Middleboro blanked Norwell, 9-0. Ryan Marzelli and Tylor Zamora had two hits apiece for the Sachems.

Tyler Lennox went 3-for-4 (double, two runs) in Carver's 10-6 loss to Mashpee. Brady Shuffain went 2-for-3 and scored a run, Teagan Zakrzewski went 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored, and Nate Dirado (double) and Derek Lopes each drove in RBIs.

Jorden Phillion earned the win in relief as Brockton defeated Quincy, 8-6. Michael Wagner, Adam Perez, Anthony Veiga and Armani LoRusso had multi-hit days for the Boxers.

David McNaught struck out five and allowed one earned run in five innings of work as Whitman-Hanson secured an 8-1 win over Marshfield. Zach Casey and Johnny Walker each drove in multiple runs for the Panthers.

Collin Monteiro struck out seven in four scoreless innings of work to headline Silver Lake's 4-3 win over Duxbury.

Cohasset reliever Josh Young pitched three strong innings to seal the Skippers' 10-8 win over West Bridgewater. For WB, Jag Garces (3-for-3) doubled in each of his three plate appearances, and James Sheedy went 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs.

Bryan Prioli (13 strikeouts, three hits allowed) and Ricky Farry closed out Holbrook's 3-2 win over Avon on the mound. Prioli drove in the winning run on a 2-RBI base hit in the fifth inning. Luke Burns and Zach Mayo combined to strike out 11 in Avon's loss.

Sandwich defeated Rockland, 9-0.

SOFTBALL

Delaney Moquin and Samantha Waters each hit home runs as Silver Lake towered over Duxbury, 18-0. Moquin allowed one hit and struck out 12 in the circle. Miranda Johnson (four hits, 5 RBIs) was one of the six Lakers with multi-hit days.

Jill Ondrick had 13 strikeouts in improving her record to 4-0, and Alyssa Burke powered a two-run home run as Archbishop Williams clinched a 3-2 win over Bishop Feehan. Monica Kelley went 2-for-3 with a double in the win.

Abby Hunt sent Milton's first home run of the season over the fence in a 9-2 win over Somerset Berkley. Shakura Lynch (three hits), Sadie Steuterman, Christina McA’Nulty and Molly Lovett had multi-hit days for the Wildcats. Hunt and MK Maloney had quality appearances in the circle.

Freshman pitcher McKenzie Craig struck out 12 and hit a home run in West Bridgewater's 8-6, extra-inning loss to Old Rochester. Craig, Alanna Fidalgo, Neala Boyd, Brianna LaGrange and Cassidy Perrault had multiple hits for the Wildcats.

Malia Goldberg (3-for-4, two-run home run, 2 RBIs and three runs scored) led the charge as Abington poured on 12 runs in the final two frames to defeat Hingham, 15-3, in eight innings. Calli Pineau (3-for-5, double, 2 RBIs, 2 runs), Kasie Bailey (3-for-5, RBI, run), Maddie McDonald (2-for-5, double, 2 RBIs, run), Ava DiPeitro (2-for-4, RBI, run) contributed to the Green Wave's surge. Pitcher Elsie Testa struck out seven and relinquished three hits in the win.

Taryn Clancy tallied 11 strikeouts as Middleboro defeated Norwell, 6-3. Taylynn Robinson tripled as part of her 2-for-3 day and drove in three RBIs for the Sachems. Norwell's Abby Greene, Teegan Link and Evelyn Sim each recorded two hits.

Fontbonne Academy defeated Cardinal Spellman, 9-6.

Lily Robitaille hit a grand slam in the sixth inning to power Southeastern to a 16-14 win over Blue Hills in extras. Maddie Reed hit the walk-off single to bring Robitaille home in the eighth. Becca Hornung struck out 17 in a complete-game effort in the circle. Hornung and Katie Rabatsky each recorded multiple hits in the win.

BOYS TRACK & FIELD

West Bridgewater's James Harris won the javelin and 100m and ran on the winning 4x100m relay in a 121-11 season-opening victory over Bourne. Kenly Laime won the high jump and 110m hurdle, and also ran on the winning 4x100m relay. Derek Cashman won the 400s and ran on the winning 4x400m relay.

Archbishop Williams' Nick Antonellis won the 2-mile in 10:29.19 as the Bishops opened their season by splitting four meets -- wins over Bishop Stang (66-58) and Cristo Rey (110-12) and losses to host Bishop Feehan (114-22) and Cardinal Spellman (98-34).

GIRLS TRACK & FIELD

In a season-opening 123-7 victory over Bourne, the Wildcats got double wins from Aly Bassett (100m hurdles, high jump), Ella Dunbury (800m, mile), Kerri Gomes (discus, 400m) and Chloe Gauthier (long jump, triple jump).

Archbishop Williams' Kaitlyn Burke won the 100m (:13.14) and 200m (:27.38) as the Bishops opened their season by splitting four meets -- wins over Bishop Stang (87-34 and Cristo Rey (109-0) and losses to host Bishop Feehan (80-52) and Cardinal Spellman (81-43).

Wednesday, April 10

BOYS LACROSSE

South Shore Tech defeated Tri-County, 15-1.

Shaun Teehan scored a hat trick in Oliver Ames' 14-4 loss to Canton. Declan Taylor scored his first varsity goal. Brendan Tourgee had 3 goals and 3 assists for the Bulldogs.

Brendan Cooper tallied 7 goals in Southeastern's 17-2 win over Cape Cod Tech. Sean Pechulis (4 goals) and Payton Volz (3) also chipped in. Ryan Chute, Thomas Leger, and Vince Cuzzi scored their first varsity goals.

Sean Rockwood and Anthony Desousa each scored in Stoughton's 4-2 loss to Taunton.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Hannah Nota had 4 points (3 goals, assist) in South Shore Tech's 8-5 win over Tri-County. Lili Berquist and Sofia Grasso each had 2 goals while Kaylin Hicks made 7 saves for the Vikings (4-0).

Taylor McAndrew led Oliver Ames to a 17-15 win over Canton as she tallied 7 goals. Leanna Hudson and Kayla Isleib each had hat tricks while Olivia Magee made key stops in the fourth quarter.

Cardinal Spellman's Elle Murphy scored 6 goals in a 17-10 loss to Arlington Catholic. Devyn Dubs added 2 goals for the Cardinals.

Abington goalie Brielle DeJesus made 9 saves and had an assist in a win over Falmouth Academy.

SOFTBALL

Marshfield defeated Quincy/North Quincy, 14-0, behind big games from Rowan Dillon (2 hits, triple, 2 RBIs) and Maddie Powers (3 runs).

Braintree defeated Weymouth, 11-2. Maddie Smith pitched well in the loss while Bella Pires was 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI. Abby Reed also had an RBI.

Gill Jolley doubled and scored Fontbonne Academy's lone run in a 13-1 loss to Malden Catholic.

Milton defeated Walpole, 4-3, as Abby Hunt and MK Maloney both pitched well. Christina McA'Nulty had two hits and Ellie McConville tallied 6 putouts/defensive assists.

Victoria Sheehan was 3-for-4 in Whitman-Hanson's 9-1 loss to Plymouth South.

Taylor Marino pitched a shutout with the help of her defense in Oliver Ames' 4-0 win over Mansfield. Marino struck out one, while the defense recorded the other 20 outs. Crystyliah Covel reached base three times (hit, 2 walks), scored once and drove in a run.

Greater New Bedford Voke defeated Southeastern, 5-0.

Hanover defeated Plymouth North, 11-4, as Kaelyn Chase with 4-for-4 with a double, triple, walk and 3 runs scored. McKenzie Foley (2 hits, 2 RBIs), Noey Giardina (2 hits) and Abby Hanna (2 doubles, 2 RBIs) also starred offensively.

Jess Mulrey drove in 4 RBI and threw three runners attempting to steal in Hingham's 12-7 win over Scituate. Kathe Schulte (2 runs, RBI) and Sienna Powers (run, RBI) both had 2 hits, and Jane Melia gave up 1 earned run over 5⅓ innings.

Cardinal Spellman's Hayley Dennis delivered a walk-off 2-run double in the bottom of the 7th inning to plate Taylor Dolan and Kiley Dolan in a 10-9 victory over Arlington Catholic. Taylor Dolan homered, and Kiley Dolan and Avery Barnes each had 2 hits for the Cardinals.

Canton's Reilly MacEachern pitched well in a 9-8, 8-inning loss to Stoughton. Sami Grady, Laura Valkanas, Delaney Clegg and Anna Lehan had multiple hits for the Bulldogs.

Notre Dame Academy rallied for a pair of runs in the 7th inning to beat Ursuline Academy, 4-3. Olivia Mainvielle went 2-for-3 with double and a triple with 2 RBIs for the Cougars (3-1). Hannah Gauthier RBI), Molly Beale (RBI) and Piper Levin each went 2-for-3.

South Shore Tech's Maya Crawford went 4-for-5 with 2 RBIs and 4 runs scored in a 21-8 win over Upper Cape Tech. Allie Blanchard (4-for-6, 3 RBIs, 4 runs), Molly Peterson (3-for-5, RBI, 2 runs) and Kaylee Gamache (home run, 3 RBIs) also starred at the plate, and Hannah Dailey got the win in the circle.

BASEBALL

Abington defeated Mashpee, 3-0, as John Sellon pitched 6⅓ shutout innings and Henry Rogers escaped a bases-loaded jam in the 7th inning. Pat Cummings drove in a run for the Green Wave, and Sellon scored twice.

Whitman-Hanson defeated Plymouth South, 5-1, as Evan Yakavonis tossed a complete-game gem (7 strikeouts, 3 hits) to earn the win for the Panthers (3-1). Johnnie Walker (2-for-3, 3 runs) and Cam Beltramini (2-for-4, 2-run double) led the way offensively. Lucas Bartlett pitched well in the loss.

Scituate improved to 3-0 as Jason Bellucci had the walk-off RBI in an 8-7 win over Hingham. The Sailors rallied from a 5-0 deficit. Ben Caristi was 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs, 2 runs and a pair of doubles.

Leo Lyons tossed a 2-hit shutout with 8 strikeouts in Milton's 1-0 win over Walpole. Jack Sullivan was 2-for-3 with the game's lone RBI.

Marshfield defeated North Quincy, 6-3, as Jacob Ekstrom had a 2-run double in a 6-run fourth inning. Dan Lambo pitched 4 shutout innings in his varsity debut, and Wes Staffier pitched out of a bases-loaded jam in the 7th to record the save for the Rams (2-0). Cam Smith had an RBI for Marshfield. For NQ (1-2), Aidan McCarthy pitched well in relief and had a double and RBI at the plate.

Freshman Luke Joyce pitched 6 solid innings to pick up his first varsity win in Braintree's 6-3 victory over Weymouth. Max King was 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs for the Wamps (2-1).

Gabe Knudsen struck out 14 batters over 6 innings of one-run ball in Hanover's 6-1 win over Plymouth North. Cole Hendrickson struck out the side in the seventh. Connor Hutchinson and Joe DaCosta each had 2 RBIs.

Drew Hall went 3-for-3, but Oliver Ames fell to Mansfield, 10-1.

Silver Lake defeated Quincy, 10-0, as Kevin O'Keefe pitched 5 scoreless innings and RJ Thorp had 2 hits and 2 RBIs.

Thayer Academy's Sean Toland was 2-for-3 with an RBI in an 11-3 loss to Governor's Academy. Carter Wright allowed 1 earned run over 4 innings with 6 strikeouts.

BC High's Brody Beale delivered a walk-off single to beat Catholic Memorial, 9-8, in extra innings. The Eagles are 3-0 (2-0 Catholic Conference).

Greater New Bedford Voke defeated Southeastern, 9:30.

Tyler Alsen pitched well in Cardinal Spellman's 3-2 loss to Arlington Catholic. Alex Confarotta had 2 hits, including a double and an RBI.

GIRLS TENNIS

Whitman-Hanson beat Plymouth South, 3-2. Alyson Tobias won at first singles, and W-H swept the doubles with the teams of Sophie Ennis/Maddy Morris (No. 1) and Delaney Hughes/Ciara Flynn (No. 2).

Notre Dame Academy's Sophia Lirio and Vivienne LaGrassa won at second and third singles, respectively, in a 4-1 victory over Ursuline Academy. NDA also swept the doubles with the teams of Clara Healey/Skye Bunge (No. 1) and Gabi Marchione/Lily Studebaker (No. 2).

Oliver Ames blanked Mansfield, 5-0, getting singles wins from Hannah Farber (No. 1), Stella Zachos (No. 2) and Ada Visnauskis (No. 3) and sweeping the doubles with the teams of Emily Beaulieu/Ava Barth (No. 1) and Ella Mierzwinski/Bella Hyman (No. 2).

Braintree defeated Weymouth, 5-0.

North Quincy defeated Marshfield, 3-2.

Silver Lake defeated Quincy, 5-0.

BOYS TENNIS

North Quincy defeated Marshfield, 5-0.

Senior captain James Li (first singles) won the decisive point in Quincy's 3-2 victory over Silver Lake in a tiebreaker (7-6 (7-4), 3-6, 7-6 (7-3)).

Tim Vargas at first singles led Duxbury to a 5-0 win over Pembroke.

In Hingham's 5-0 win over Scituate, Parker Schultz, Ethan Warhaftig and Dylan Vale swept the singles as Travis Rugg/Liam Arnold and Colin Chisholm/Chris Connelly took the doubles.

In a 3-2 loss to Plymouth South, Whitman-Hanson got its points from the doubles teams of Tristan Baker/Ryan Hathaway and Connor Thomas/Logan Peterson.

GIRLS GOLF

Ava Welch, Hailey Flynn, Genevieve Taylor and Marley Hamilton won their matches as Duxbury defeated Notre Dame Academy, 4-2.

GIRLS TRACK & FIELD

Bridgewater-Raynham defeated Dartmouth, 76-60, behind double-winners Alisha Gomes (100, 200 meters) and Camden Strandberg (mile, high jump).

In a victory over Silver Lake, Hingham got individual wins from Catherine Salem (100m hurdles, :17.7); Meghan Koenen (400m hurdles, 1:11.48); Kate Hall (100m, :13.45); and Zoe Schulze (javelin, 91-5).

Leila Keaney (100m hurdles), Sky Anderson (mile) and Brianna Codio (discus) won their events, but Whitman-Hanson fell to Marshfield, 80-56.

BOYS TRACK & FIELD

Marshfield's Nate Looney won four events, setting PRs in each -- high jump (5-10), long jump (21-1.25), 100m (:11.17) and 200m (:23.45) -- in a 104.5-30.5 victory over Whitman-Hanson.

Lucas Andrade (100m, 100m hurdles) and Jaden Lopes-Ribiero (long jump, high jump) were double winners in Brockton's 70-66 loss to Xaverian.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

North Quincy defeated Quincy, 3-1. In the loss, the Presidents (1-4) had 18 kills on 16 assists with 27 digs as a team.

GIRLS RUGBY

Weymouth lost to Belmont, 26-12.

Tuesday, April 9

BASEBALL

Hanover's Owen Kennedy threw a complete-game 1-hitter with 15 strikeouts in a 4-0 home win over Plymouth South. John McDonald (2-run double), Joey Dacosta (RBI single) and Sam Light (RBI single) delivered in a big fourth inning. Cole Hendrickson was 2-for-2 and reached base three times. South's Cam Tetler did not allow an earned run over 5 innings with 5 hits and 6 strikeouts.

Braintree's Peter Brooks clubbed a 2-run homer, and Max Deroche pitched 5 shutout innings with 8 strikeouts in a 10-0 win over Newton North. Hayden Regan was 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Wamps (1-1).

Avon's Jordan Medeiros was 2-for-3 and pitched a complete-game 2-hitter with 10 strikeouts in a 7-0 win over Rising Tide. Zach Mayo also had a pair of hits for Avon (2-1).

Cardinal Spellman's Alex Confarotta allowed 1 hit over 5⅓ innings with 5 strikeouts in a 4-1 win over Brockton. Sophomore Jason Cunningham came on in relief with the bases loaded and one out in the sixth and got out of the jam with 2 strikeouts. Ben Catton and Wes Wallick each had 2-run singles in the fourth.

East Bridgewater's Collin Meserve earned the victory in a 5-4 win over Norwell, striking out 7 over 4 innings and getting 2 hits, 2 RBIs and 2 runs. Garrett Berry added 2 hits and an RBI single for the Vikings (2-0), Brody Lovell drove in a run, and Devon Blair pitched the final 3 innings for the save, striking out 5.

West Bridgewater beat Hull, 16-7, as James Sheedy was 2-for 3 with 3 RBIs and Jag Garces was 1-for-1 with a double, 4 walks and 5 stolen bases. Thomas Polidori added a double.

In an 11-1 loss to King Philip, Oliver Ames' Harrison Fitzpatrick was 2-for-2 with a walk, a double and a run scored, and Griffin Pike picked up his first varsity hit with a double.

Middleboro's Cole Kelleher struck out 12 in a 5-2 win over Sandwich.

Rockland beat Holbrook, 18-10, as Austin Daly was 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs and 4 runs, and Shawn Boostrom had 2 hits, 2 RBIs and scored 4 runs.

SOFTBALL

Weymouth's Maddie Smith threw a no-hitter and drove in 6 runs in a win over Randolph. Viv Palazzo, Sammy Kelsch and Paige Sellon all had extra-base hits for the Wildcats (3-1).

Silver Lake's Lily Dillon had 4 hits and 5 RBIs in a 17-0 win over Scituate. Alannah Waters, Nina O’Neil, Elise Tartagloine and Anna Craft had multiple hits on the day, and Delaney Moquin and Katelyn Taylor combined for 13 strikeouts over 5 innings.

Oliver Ames' Taylor Marino allowed 4 earned runs over 5 innings in a 10-0 loss to King Philip. Marino and Katie Berg had hits for the Tigers.

East Bridgewater's Maggie Schlossberg earned the complete-game win, striking out 11 in a 9-2 victory over Norwell. The Vikings offense was powered by Maddie Blette (2 hits, 3 RBIs), Riley Egan (2 hits, RBI), Olivia Atkins (2 hits) and Liz McNaught (2 RBIs).

Abington beat Carver, 17-1, in 5 innings as Calli Pineau, Malia Goldberg, Jess Blyth, Brenna Howley and Kasie Bailey all had multi-hit games for the Green Wave (3-0).

Hanover's Kaelyn Chase doubled, tripled and drove in a run in a 5-4 loss vs. Plymouth South. McKenzie Foley had a single, a triple and an RBI.

BOYS LACROSSE

Norwell's Oliver Rice had 4 goals and an assist, and Joe McCarthy won 13 of 18 faceoffs in a 10-5 win over Abington. Nolan Petrucelli (2 goals), Matt Panttila (goal, 4 assists), Jake McGuirk (goal, 2 assists) and Teddy Glynn (goal) also starred for the Clippers. Ian Barrett had a hat trick for Abington, and Leeland Spry scored twice. Hunter Grafton and Matt Grafton each had 2 assists.

Scituate's Willy Cahill scored 5 goals, and Will Robinson and Owen Quinn each added 4 goals in a 22-2 win over Whitman-Hanson.

Silver Lake's Noah Palleschi had 5 goals and 4 assists in a 12-7 win over Hanover.

BC High defeated St. John's (Shrewsbury), 9-7.

Plymouth South defeated Plymouth North, 8-5.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Norwell's Lexi Davis led a balanced attack with 4 goals as the Clippers (3-2) got scores from seven different players in a 16-2 win over Abington. Danielle Cox and Holly Panttila each had hat tricks, and Charlise Cox scored twice.

Bridgewater-Raynham's Emily Keefe scored 5 goals, and Lexi White and Erin Rennie also found the net in a 13-2 win over New Bedford.

Duxbury's Maggie Slimbaugh and Mackenzie Kingston each had hat tricks in a 16-3 win over Quincy.

Weymouth's Mira Flaherty recorded her 100th career point in an 8-7 overtime loss to Needham.

Hingham's Grace Maroney had 7 points in a 19-4 win over North Quincy.

Whitman-Hanson's Shannon Balfe scored twice in an 11-2 loss to Scituate.

Hanover's Charlotte Wheeler made 11 saves in a 13-3 win over Silver Lake. Ayla McDermod and Tia MacVarish each had hat tricks for the Hawks, and Eva Kelliher and Emma Dolan each scored twice.

Plymouth North defeated Plymouth South, 17-6.

Marshfield beat Pembroke, 17-5.

GIRLS TENNIS

Archbishop Williams beat St. Mary's (Lynn), 5-0, at Presidents Golf Club in Quincy. Addie Woodgate (No. 1), Cat Crowley (No. 2) and Reese Durfee (No. 3) swept the singles matches, and the Bishops got doubles wins from the teams of Rory Shields/Alannah Kearney (No. 1) and Bella Buonopane/Grace York (No. 2).

Norwell beat East Bridgewater, 4-1, getting singles wins from Joy D’Souza (No. 1) and Kelsey Ouellete (No. 3) and sweeping the doubles matches with the teams of Jane Santos/Isabelle Bousquet (No. 1) and Stella Chan/Cam Vroman (No. 2).

In a 3-2 loss to King Philip, Oliver Ames got singles wins from Hannah Farber (No. 1) and Kathryn Weiler (No. 3).

Bridgewater-Raynham defeated Dartmouth, 3-2, sweeping the singles behind Nicole Kimball (No. 1), Eily Mitchell (No. 2) and Megan McInnis (No. 3). McInnis rallied for a 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 victory.

BOYS TENNIS

In a 4-1 loss to Sandwich, Middleboro's Theodore Collins registered the Sachems' lone point at third singles.

Oliver Ames lost, 3-2, to King Philip, getting wins from Patrick Dolan (No. 3 singles) and the No. 1 doubles team of Brendan Teehan and Nick Wagner.

GIRLS GOLF

Braintree beat Weymouth (4.5-1.5) and Framingham (4-2) as Lexi Curtis and Orlaith McGowan each won twice. The Wamps also got single wins from Morgan Canney, Aimee Caplan and Erin McCarthy.

In a 6-0 win over Quincy/North Quincy, Duxbury got wins from Harper Capilli, Caroline Donovan, Ava Welch, Hailey Flynn, Geneveive Taylor and Marley Hamilton.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Braintree's Deon Li had 29 assists and 6 aces in a 3-0 win over Walpole.

GIRLS TRACK & FIELD

Canton lost to Mansfield, 86-51, despite a big day from Katie Oliver, who won the long jump (17-0) and triple jump (36-6.5) and was second in the 100 meters (:12.8) and 100m hurdles (:17.7). Chloe Dubuisson won the 400m hurdles (:71.0), and Maddie Driscoll was second in the mile (6:12.7) and 2-mile (13:15.2).

BOYS TRACK & FIELD

Canton lost to Mansfield, 104-32, but Mo Arugollu won the 400m hurdles (1:03.3) and was second in the triple jump (37-7.5). J.J. Faulk was second in the 100m (:11.1) and third in the long jump (19-2), and Casey Lee was second in the 110m hurdles (:18.3) and third in the triple jump (34-6). Mark McDonough was second in the javelin with a career-best throw of 125-1.5.

Monday, April 8

SOFTBALL

Silver Lake defeated Plymouth North, 12-0, as Maddy Bryan, Alannah Waters, Sam Waters and Nina O’Neil all hit home runs. Delaney Moquin struck out 10 in the circle.

Taryn Leonard had a walk-off RBI double to push Whitman-Hanson to a 4-3 win over Dubxury. Cassidy Briggs went 4-for-4 while Kaitlyn Howard earned the win in the circle with 10 strikeouts.

Jill Ondrick struck out 16 and belted a 2-run home run in Archbishop Williams' 3-0 win over St. Mary's. Ciara McMenamin had a key double and Ashley Caruso scored one run.

Kelly McGee pitched a no-hitter with 15 strikeouts in Pembroke's 6-0 win over Quincy/North Quincy.

Notre Dame Academy defeated Fontbonne Academy, 3-2, as Shannon Macleod tripled in two runs to erase a 2-0 deficit in the sixth. She also was the winning pitcher, throwing a 4-hitter with 8 strikeouts. In the loss, Ava Donaghue and Rebecca Tse had 2 hits apiece.

Norwell's Penny Saich went 3-for-3 with 4 RBIs in a 22-3 win over Brockton. Abby Greene (3-for-3) and Evelyn Sim (2-for-3) each had 3 RBIs.

Hingham defeated Marshfield, 5-4, in 9 innings. Jess Mulrey (4-for-5, 2 runs) scored the winning run on Jane Melia's single. Bilyana Wilkin had 12 strikeouts and 4 hits in the circle in the win and had 2 hits at the dish.

Cardinal Spellman's Kiley Dolan had a pair of hits in a 6-4 loss to Monomoy. The Cardinals (1-2) trailed 6-0 but scored four times in the bottom of the seventh to make it close.

BASEBALL

Cam Beltramini went 3-for-4 with a 3-run home run in Whitman-Hanson's 7-2 win over Duxbury. Ryan Baker earned the win on the mound (6 innings, 1 earned, 8 strikeouts) and Jacob Getchell had two hits.

Milton defeated Wellesley, 10-2, as James Burnes earned his first varsity win with 2⅓ innings of relief. Luke Naughton had 3 RBIs.

Will Shanahan and Joe Schwartz both had a pair of hits in Archbishop Williams' 8-1 loss to St. Mary's.

Cam Carroll had a walk-off hit in Silver Lake's 6-5 win over Falmouth. Jack Quigley had two triples while Jack LaNatra earned the win on the mound.

Norwell's Jack McGee threw a 5-inning no-hitter with 9 strikeouts in a 12-0 win over Rockland. Liam Shepherd went 3-for-4 with 3 doubles and 3 RBIs. Colin McCarthy had 2 doubles and 2 RBIs.

Middleboro defeated New Bedford, 9-2.

North Quincy defeated Pembroke, 10-6, as sophomore Ryan Witz had 3 hits, 2 doubles and 4 runs scored. Max Gaudiano had 3 RBIs.

Owen King hit a home run in Bridgewater-Raynham's 7-2 loss to Barnstable.

Marshfield's Tor Maas got the decision in a 5-2 season-opening win over Hingham, allowing 2 earned runs on 3 hits over 6 innings with 3 strikeouts. Brandon Raftes earned the save, and Cam Smith had a hit and scored twice.

Hull's Edward Hipp earned his first varsity win, allowing 2 hits over 5 innings with 10 strikeouts in a 19-0 win over Norfolk Aggie. Tegan Bellew, Tristan Lofgren and Wil Kenerson each had his first varsity hit for the Pirates (2-1).

BOYS LACROSSE

Henri Barriere had six goals in a 15-5 win over St. Mary's for Archbishop Williams.

Rockland defeated Cardinal Spellman, 10-8, as Pat McGuirk had 4 goals and Joe Earner had 3.

Ryan Jaco (5 goals, assist), Shaun Teehan (4 goals, assist), Thomas Hern (2 goals, 3 assists) and Lucas Gangi (2 goals, 2 assists) led Oliver Ames to a 17-3 win over Stoughton. Brody Forman scored his first varsity goal and Evan Jaco had 3 points (2 goals, assist).

GIRLS LACROSSE

Laney Larsen, Avery Regan, Aine Norton and Kate Greer all had hat tricks in Cohasset's 18-1 win over Hull. Matti Driscoll and Sienna Marshak scored their first varsity goals.

Elle Murphy scored 7 goals, and Erin O'Donnell and Grace Foster each added hat tricks to lead Cardinal Spellman to a 14-13 win over Boston Latin Academy.

Kit Perron (4 goals) and Olivia O'Rourke (3) led the way as Oliver Ames defeated Stoughton, 18-11.

Notre Dame Academy defeated Hingham, 9-4. Madeline Packard and Neely Sgobbo each had a goal and an assist in the loss.

Lilia Fagundes scored 9 goals in East Bridgewater's 16-14 loss to Mashpee.

BOYS TENNIS

Duxbury swept Whitman-Hanson, 5-0, as Taylor Bettencourt, Tucker Catalano and Bennett Stout swept the singles and Teddy Collins/Willie Pierce and Brandon Marconi/Jared Campbell took the doubles.

North Quincy defeated Pembroke, 5-0.

GIRLS TENNIS

Hingham defeated Marshfield, 4-1.

Pembroke defeated North Quincy, 5-0.

Duxbury defeated Whitman-Hanson, 4-1. The Panthers' point come from the first doubles teams of Sophie Ennis and Maddy Morris (7-5, 1-6, 13-11).

In a 3-2 win over Cardinal Spellman, Brockton got singles victories from No. 2 Lilianna Renaud and No. 3 Nedjy Joseph as well as a win from the second doubles team of Endocia Nkrumah and Chidima Orisakwe. Spellman won at first singles (Anna Chick) and first doubles (Sam Twomey/Maddie Krol).

Braintree's Haily Pham, Jolin Yang and Emma Townsend swept the singles matches in a 4-1 win over Walpole. The Wamps' other point came at first doubles (Lois Critchley/Sarayu Gadam).

Notre Dame Academy beat Fontbonne Academy, 5-0, getting singles wins from Sophia Lirio, Vivienne LaGrassa and Julia Walsh and sweeping the doubles matches with the teams of Molly Dunigan/Julianna Walker and Caroline Kessler/Caroline Reid.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

North Quincy swept Taunton, 3-0.

Madison Park defeated Quincy, 3-1. The Presidents are 1-3.

GIRLS GOLF

Duxbury defeated Cohasset, 6-0, behind wins from Harper Capilli, Caroline Donovan, Ava Welch, Hailey Flynn, Marley Hamilton, Isabelle Sundstrom and Avery McCash.

GIRLS TRACK & FIELD

Weymouth's Izzy Galusha won the high jump (4-8) and mile (5:27) to lead the Wildcats to a 76-60 season-opening win over Walpole. Other winners for Weymouth: Ella Bates (2-mile, 11:52); Emma Daley (800m, 2:25.9); Casey Dempsey (long jump, 16-1); Ainsley Weber (javelin, 119-9); and the 4x400m relay of Gracie Richard, Leah Glavin, Riley Kenneally and Galusha (4:20.1). Dempsey was second in both the 100m (:13.4) and 200m (:28.4), and Leah Goodine was second in both the 400m hurdles (:80.0) and triple jump (30-8).
