Byron-Bergen/Elba senior forward Jack Farner scored the goal that gave the Bees a 1-0 win over East Rochester/Gananda in the Section V Class C1 Boys Soccer Tournament Final.

Jack Farner scored all the goals for the Section V Class C1 champion, whose players wear the Byron-Bergen nickname Bees on their jerseys.

Farner gave Byron-Bergen/Elba a 1-0 lead with 1:51 remaining in the first half, when he ran in between two defenders to kick in a cross pass by Colin Martin that was just in front of the Cuba-Rushford/Hinsdale goalkeeper.

Byron-Bergen/Elba took a two-goal lead with 28:27 remaining in the second half. Noah Clare put his head on a ball just outside the goalie box that Farner ran toward to kick into the net.

The third goal for Farner came 2:54 later. Braedyn Chambry soared a free kick from the 30-yard line on one side of the field to the 5-yard line on the other side. A Cuba-Rushford/Hinsdale defender put his head on the ball that went off a teammate and landed near Farner, who moved to his right and rolled a shot in to his left and to the right of the goalkeeper.

Chambry dribbled forward before he sent another long pass toward Farner. Cuba-Rushford/Hinsdale's goalkeeper tried to run out and scoop the ball but failed. Farner won a scramble with the goalkeeper and a defender for the ball, got back on his feet, turned and kicked a shot past two Cuba-Rushford/Hinsdale players into the net with 22:44 remaining.
