Section 4 Class C Semifinal

Watkins Glen 7, Southern Cayuga 1

Third-seeded Southern Cayuga scored early before the Lake Hawks stormed back to score the game's final goals to earn a shot at a second consecutive Section 4 Class C title. Second-seeded Watkins Glen (17-1) advanced to face top-seeded Southern Cayuga in the final at 5 p.m. Oct. 27 at Chenango Valley. The Lake Hawks won last year's final, 3-0. Trumansburg rallied for a 4-3 overtime win over Unadilla Valley in the other semifinal.

Skye Honrath had 3 goals Wednesday; Sasha Honrath had 2 goals and an assist; and Ava Kelly and Michaela Wheaton contributed 1 goal and 1 assist each. Molly O'Connell-Campbell and Olivia VanSkiver had assists and Lilly Ameigh stopped three shots. Said WG coach Scott Morse: "We had a bit of a low start the first few minutes, but then got going and played a really good team game tonight."

Haylee Young scored 2 goals and Cennedi McCarthy had 14 saves as Southern Cayuga rallied from a 2-0 deficit for an overtime victory.

Ithaca 1, Horseheads 1 (Ithaca advances on PKs)

Ithaca advanced to the sectional final on penalty kicks, 3-1, after the teams played to a 1-1 tie through overtime. Maddie Ribble scored early in the second half off an Issie Enright assist to give Horseheads the lead. Phoebe Colvin scored the tying goal for Ithaca with 30:42 left in regulation.
