Seahawks wearing action green for Thanksgiving game vs. 49ers

Rejoice, 12’s, because our eyes will be feasting on Thanksgiving. The Seattle Seahawks have announced they are going to wear their iconic all action green color rush uniforms for Thursday Night Football.

The Seahawks often save wearing the all action green combo for Thursday or Monday night games, so it was hardly a surprise announcement. Regardless of expectation, it is still a welcome news update.

Seattle started donning the all action green uniforms in the 2016 season. Not only is it one of their more popular and completely unique looks, it’s also one they’ve had tremendous success in.

All time, the Seahawks are 8-2 when wearing the green jerseys, and 5-1 when wearing the full green combo. The last time Seattle wore this combo was in Week 1 last year, when the Seahawks upset the Denver Broncos 17-16 in Russell Wilson’s return to the Emerald City.

They will need any bit of good vibes or mojo (or whatever you want to call it) these uniforms might bring. Seattle will be hosting the San Francisco 49ers, who defeated the Seahawks in a Thursday Night Game at Lumen Field last year. Seattle was wearing the green jerseys in that game, but with blue pants. If I had to wager a bet, I’d suppose the 49ers will be wearing their all white throwback uniforms for Thanksgiving.

We’ll see if the Seahawks can bounce back from their frustrating loss to the Los Angeles Rams this past Sunday. Seattle and San Francisco will kick off at 5:20 pm on NBC, just as all the turkey will be settling in everyone’s stomachs.
