Waege, a 6-foot-5, 295-pound defensive lineman and former North Dakota State University, signed with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent shortly after the NFL Draft in April.
He practiced with the 49ers throughout training camp and played in each of the team's four preseason games before being being waived in late August, a day before NFL teams have to finalize their 53-man rosters for the 2023 season.
Waege was a two-time Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) All-American and two-time All-Missouri Valley Football Conference selection at North Dakota State, where he was a three-year starter.
