There are so many uncertainties with this game: How will Trey Lance fare as the unquestioned starter? What will Justin Fields and Chicago’s offense look like with Luke Getsy as offensive coordinator? With so much turnover on both sides, I think this game will be closer than many might think, though I still like San Francisco straight up.
Safid Deen: Bears 24, 49ers 21
Justin Fields is going to have some early trouble with Nick Bosa and San Francisco’s pass rush, but I still think he kicks off his second season with a win at home over first-year 49ers starter Trey Lance, where youth and the future of NFL QBs take center stage.
Lance Pugmire: 49ers 28, Bears 10
The Trey Lance era begins without much resistance expected from Justin Fields and the Bears. Some see the key matchup as Deebo Samuel versus Chicago cornerback Jaylon Johnson. Expect Samuel, as usual, to get his yards and points.
