Sacramento City Unified School District drops extracurricular activity restrictions, outdoor masking

Students at Sacramento City Unified School District will see some changes starting Wednesday. After a month in place, temporary restrictions on extracurricular activities and outdoor masking will be lifted, according to a letter sent to SCUSD families. The district says the changes are due to Sacramento County's COVID-19 cases falling to 22 new cases per 100k residents as of Feb. 18. It says because the county has stayed below 50 cases per 100k residents for two weeks it was able to lift the restrictions. The restrictions on extracurricular activities had been in place since Jan. 10.
