Ryan Day reacts to accusations that Ohio State shared Michigan signs with Purdue
As the world turns, so do the college football days of our lives.
In case you missed it, Ryan Day and Ohio State were officially inserted into the Michigan sign-stealing saga on Tuesday when several reports surfaced about the Wolverines providing documentation they say proves OSU and Rutgers shared Michigan’s signs with Purdue just before the Big Ten Championship game last season.
There have been rumors and speculation making the rounds on message boards and the free app known as X (formerly Twitter), with fans and self-educated “internet sleuths” making the same leap, but it wasn’t reported reputably until Tuesday. With the fire going in inside Michigan right now, Day has more or less tried to stay out of commenting, even with he and his family being implicated by many as the catalyst to all of the information coming out.
Day broke his silence Wednesday. He didn’t get too deep into the controversy, but when asked whether Ohio State shared Michigan’s offensive signals with Purdue, Day refuted the claim in a quick, rapid-fire press conference at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.
“I’m not going to get into all of that right now, but I can tell you this right now, nobody here did any of that,” Day said. “We went through and made sure — we asked all the questions and got our compliance people involved. None of that came back at all. I can answer very strongly that that did not happen.”

It’s somewhat refreshing to finally hear Day address what Ohio State is being accused of, but we’re sure it’ll only be received by Michigan faithful as a dishonest answer designed at deflecting.
We’re sure this isn’t the last we’ll hear about this ongoing drama up there in Ann Arbor, and it probably won’t be the last time OSU and Day have to speak on it.
