Russell Westbrook’s top 10 games of the 2021-22 season: No. 6

In late December, the Los Angeles Lakers were in the midst of a five-game losing streak, and their championship hopes were evaporating like a puddle on a hot, dry Southern California afternoon.

With Anthony Davis out because of a sprained MCL, there was more pressure on the increasingly embattled Russell Westbrook to turn things up.

On Dec. 28 versus the Houston Rockets, he did just that and gave his team a much-needed boost.

Westbrook put up 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field and 2-of-2 from 3-point range, 13 rebounds, 10 assists and two steals.

The game was close throughout, but once Westbrook scored with 3:38 left in the fourth quarter to put the Lakers up 117-115, they never trailed again.

Westbrook added three assists the rest of the way to help L.A. to a 132-123 victory.

LeBron James also had a triple-double to make sure the Lakers finally got back in the win column.
