ROUNDUP: Top performing high school athletes from the week of April 21-27

SAINT CLOUD – Welcome to the St. Cloud Times’ list of standout athletes.

Through the spring season, staff will weekly be highlighting athletes who performed well individually in varsity competitions held during the previous week. The list will include athletes from Albany, Becker, Foley, Holdingford, Kimball, ROCORI, Royalton, Sartell-St. Stephen, Sauk Rapids-Rice, St. Cloud Apollo, St. Cloud Cathedral, St. Cloud Tech, and St. John’s Prep competing in baseball, golf, lacrosse, softball, tennis and track and field.

Listed alphabetically, here are the nominations for the week of April 21-27.

Baseball

Isaac Daluge 

Becker junior shortstop

Becker (10-1) stayed undefeated atop the Mississippi 8 Conference last week, beating a good noncon Foley (7-3) team 5-2 on April 22 and then picking up two Mississippi 8 Conference wins April 23 versus Cambridge-Isanti (2-11) by a score of 8-7 and April 25 against Big Lake (4-6) 11-5. The three wins lengthened the Bulldogs’ nine-game winning streak.

Shortstop Isaac Daluge was a big part of their wins offensively. He had a hit in every game, ending with four RBI and three runs scored against Big Lake. Over the week Daluge was 5-10 with six RBI, five runs scored, one walk and one strikeout. He leads Becker in hits with 15 and has a 1.139 OPS this year while slugging .639.

Trey Emmerich 

Foley senior pitcher and outfielder

Foley scored in five straight innings to 10-run a good Albany (7-4) team April 23 – the high point of a 1-1 week that ended with a delay April 26 against Mora. The Falcons lost 5-2 against Becker on April 22.

Trey Emmerich started on the mound for the Albany win, going all five innings and striking out eight Huskies. He didn’t allow any runs and only gave up two hits and four walks.

Kellan Graning 

Becker senior pitcher and third baseman

Recent St. Scholastica-commit Kellan Graning kicked Becker’s week off with a win from the mound against Foley. He struck out nine Falcons in five innings and only allowed two runs on three hits and four walks. One of the runs was unearned.

He also went 4-13 at the plate, hitting four RBI and scoring twice. Graning struck out twice.

Joshua Groskreutz

Senior Joshua Groskreutz followed up his classmate in the rotation with a start against Cambridge-Isanti. In 3 2/3 innings pitched, Groskreutz was responsible for all seven of the Bluejacket’s runs, though just one was earned after three walks and three errors in the game.

Even more impressive was his performance at the plate, cresting .500 with a hit in every game and scoring four runs. He went 5-11 with two RBI and two walks drawn, though he also struck out twice.

Josiah Petersen 

Foley senior catcher and pitcher

Josiah Petersen took the loss for Foley against Becker. He went three scoreless innings before the good-hitting Bulldogs hung all five of their runs on the senior in the fourth inning, capitalizing on an infield error and a hit-by-pitch with four hits. Still, Petersen got through the inning and struck out the first hitter of the fifth. He K-ed nine Bulldogs and gave up five unearned runs on six hits and two walks.

Peterson was 3-6 at the dish, hitting two teammates in and scoring a run. He struck out once and walked once.

Kaden Rausch 

ROCORI senior third baseman and pitcher

ROCORI (5-4) scored four runs in both games it played against Willmar (6-4) on April 23, beating the Cardinals 4-3 on a walk off single, then losing 8-4. On April 25 the Spartans beat Fergus Falls (2-8) 6-2.

Kaden Rausch came in to pitch during a tough spot in the Willmar loss, entering the game in the sixth inning with a runner on first and no outs. He gave up four runs in the inning of work, walking a batter, hitting one and giving up two hits with no Ks. He pitched all seven innings against Fergus Falls, though, only giving up two runs with five strikeouts and zero walks. The Otters got eight hits and only one of the runs were earned. On the week Rausch was 1-1 pitching, going eight innings and giving up six runs on 10 hits and a walk.

Rausch had a hit in each of the Spartans’ three games last week, going 5-7 at the plate with two RBI and a run scored. He drew two walks and only struck out once, adding to a 1.162 OPS.

Jonah Schneider 

Royalton senior pitcher and third baseman

After a five-game losing streak to start the season, Royalton (5-7) went 2-1 last week, ending on back-to-back wins over Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City (0-12) on April 25 after nearly upsetting Holdingford (9-1) on April 22. The Royals lost to the Huskers 2-1, but beat the Falcons 4-0 and 2-1.

Senior Jonah Schneider kept Royalton in the Holdingford game as a pitcher and he had a hit in every game, including the winning single in the late game against A-C-GC. On the mound he got the loss, but only gave up two runs, one earned, on four hits and no walks. He struck out six Huskers.

Schneider didn’t strike out at all himself, instead drawing four walks and going 3-6 with an RBI and a run scored.

Cade Simones 

Cathedral senior pitcher and right fielder

St. Cloud Cathedral (5-6) played four games last week, all with final scores within three runs. The Crusaders lost April 22 to Osakis (3-4) 2-1, lost April 23 to Little Falls (6-3) 3-0, won April 27 against Long Prairie-Grey Eagle (6-3) 3-0 and lost later April 27 to Paynesville (13-1) 5-4.

In outings against the Silverstreaks and the Thunder, senior Cade Simones continued his run of zero earned runs to start to the season. Osakis scored on a triple after a runner made it on base after a dropped third strike. He struck out 13 Silverstreaks in the loss, only walking one and giving up four hits in six innings of work. Against Long Prairie-Grey Eagle, Simones earned a win with five innings pitched, three strikeouts and two walks. On the week Simones was credited with a win and a loss, pitching 11 innings and giving up two hits and three walks with 16 strikeouts.

Connor Harens  

St. Cloud senior attacker

The St. Cloud Crush (4-3) won two games last week, extending to a three-game win streak. The Crush beat Sartell/Sauk Rapids (4-3) on April 23 7-6 and Brainerd (4-4) on April 25 17-9.

Partially responsible for St. Cloud’s offense in the week was senior attacker Connor Harens. He had 14 points last week, scoring eight goals. Harens also had seven ground balls and zero penalty minutes.

Jonas Malmanger 

St. Cloud senior goaltender

Jonas Malmanger has continued to play a great goal for St. Cloud, stopping 17 of 23 shots against Sartell/Sauk Rapids and 23 of 30 against Brainerd. Malmanger committed to play lacrosse at Carrol on April 25.

Connor Wavrin

The other head of St. Cloud’s attack, Connor Wavrin had 10 points against Brainerd, though he scored seven goals rather than splitting the points equally like Harens. On the week, Wavrin scored nine goals and had five assists, picking up three ground balls.

Girls lacrosse

Mariah Booker 

St. Cloud senior attacker/midfielder

After starting 2024 on a four-game winning streak, the St. Cloud Crush (4-4) hit a slide last week with back-to-back losses to Brainerd (6-3) on April 25 8-7 and Moorhead (5-1) on April 27 13-3. On April 23 the Crush beat Sartell/Sauk Rapids (0-7) by a score of 17-5.

Senior Mariah Booker had multiple goals in every game, kicking the week off with a hattie and three ground balls against the Storm’n Sabres. She had two goals in each of the losses for seven on the week. She had eight total ground balls.

Lauren Juncewski 

St. Cloud senior midfielder

Lauren Juncewski matched Booker’s seven goal total from last week, though her scores came by way of a hat trick against Sartell/Sauk Rapids and a four-goal game against Brainerd. She had four ground balls in the three games.

Cecelia Meemken 

St. Cloud sophomore goalkeeper

Goalie Cecelia Meemken worked hard to keep St. Cloud in the pair of losses. She had 18 saves against Brainerd’s 26 shots on goal and stopped nine of 12 shots against Moorhead. In all three games, Meemken stopped 33 of 50 shots on goal.

Zac Kreuzer

The Granite Ridge is heavy at the top between Albany, Pequot Lakes and Cathedral. The Crusaders won April 23 at Pierz Municipal, but Albany came back with a team win April 25 at Milaca ‘s Stones Throw Golf Course. The Huskies also placed second April 24 at the Sauk Centre Invitational.

Albany’s top golfer, senior Zac Kreuzer won at Milaca and Sauk Centre and tied for sixth in Pierz. At Stones Throw, Kreuzer shot a 71, three shots clear of Cathedral’s Nathan Schuver in second. Even, Kreuzer shot birdies on holes 2, 6, 14 and 15 with bogeys on 8,9, 12 and 16. With four other Huskies in the top 10 individuals, Albany won the meet with an overall score of 310. Cathedral marked a 315. A day later Kreuzer tied for first in the Sauk Centre Invitational on April 24 with a 72. He, Albany freshman Blake Silbernick and two other golfers shot the leading score. Albany was six points behind Detroit Lakes’ winning team score of 298.

Kreuzer started the week shooting an 80 at Pierz’s muni course. He tied for sixth with Silbernick and fellow Husky senior Joe Hoff. Albany placed behind Cathedral on the podium by 15 strokes.

Girls golf

Sophia Anderson 

Albany senior golfer

Albany senior Sophia Anderson was one stroke from the lead in two of her three meets last week for the Huskies. She also won the Sauk Centre Invite on April 24 at Greystone Golf Club, her score of 72 being 14 strokes clear of second place. As a team, Albany took second April 22 at Mora’s Spring Brook Golf Course, first at Sauk Centre and second April 25 at Crosswoods Golf Course.

In her win at Greystone, Anderson shot birdies on 1, 6 and 16 and an eagle on 2

At Crosswoods Anderson shot a 72 with four birdies – including on par-3 hole 17 – ten strokes ahead of classmate Madi Ramler in sixth.

She was off at Spring Brook, recording bogeys on 2, 9, 10, 12, 14 and 15. But an eagle on 8’s par 5 and a birdie on 16 helped stabilize a second-place finish.

Layla Mathews

Becker won all three meets it entered last week, April 22 at Pebble Creek Golf Club’s Championship Course, April 24 at Refuge Golf Club and April 25 at Elk River Golf Club. Junior Layla Mathews was at the front of the pack in all three competitions, winning individually at Refuge and Pebble Creek. She placed second at Elk River with an 86, closing just three-over on the back nine to finish two strokes behind the leader.

Mathews was one of four Becker golfers in the top ten at Elk River.

The Bulldogs swept the top three positions April 24 at Refuge Golf Club and had three of the top four spots at Pebble Creek. Mathews shot an 82, birdieing 9 and 12, while seniors Alexa Voller and Avery Johnson scored an 87 and 93. Becker handily won the meet, same as its home course the next day. At Pebble Creek, Mathews shot an 81 with a birdie on 16, Voller recorded an 87 and Johnson scored a 90.

Softball

Jessica Boos 

ROCORI sophomore pitcher and infielder

ROCORI (10-1) picked up three Central Lakes Conference points last week, beating Willmar (0-11) 19-4 in four innings April 23 and sweeping a doubleheader against Sauk Rapids (4-10) on April 25.  As a team ROCORI only struck out once in 23 at-bats against the Cardinals. Jessica Boos pitched for the Spartans and she had seven in just three innings, including three in a perfect second inning. In her start in the 10-0 early game against Sauk Rapids, Boos had 14 Ks in six innings of work. On the week she was 2-0 with 21 Ks and zero runs scored in nine innings. Boos was pounding the zone, not walking a single batter.

She was hot at the plate too, going 5-12 with five RBI, four runs scored and two strikeouts.

Riley Fischer 

Kimball sophomore left fielder and pitcher

Kimball (12-0) beat Maple Lake (1-11) and Albany (9-2) last week on April 23 and 25. The Cubs shut out the Irish 7-0 and took down the Huskies 10-3.

Riley Fischer hit and scored in both games but she was most impactful from the circle. In her start against Albany, the sophomore went the distance, striking out 17 Huskies in a usually-gritty Albany lineup. She only had one walk and gave up one earned run.

She scored three times on the week and was 3-8 with an RBI and a K.

Makadence Gallus

Holdingford (5-7) was 2-3 on the week, starting with a 13-3 five-inning loss to Royalton (4-8) on April 22, then split doubleheaders April 24 against Upsala (8-4) and Swanville (15-2) and April 25 against Paynesville (7-8). The Huskers beat Upsala 14-3 with eight hits, but Swanville walked off 10-9 with zero outs in the seventh inning. Against Paynesville, the Huskers won the first game 7-1 and scored two touchdowns in the second game, but lost 19-14 after running out of pitching depth and giving up 11 unearned runs on four errors and 18 walks.

Makadence Gallus took advantage of the ample at-bats, going 7-18 and scoring nine runs thanks to three walks. She had four RBI in the five games and struck out three times.

Elise Hausmann

The St. Cloud Crush (8-5) went on a five-game winning streak before falling in a 6-5 walk-off to Moorhead (5-5) on April 26. The Crush won four of those games last week, taking down Sauk Rapids 13-3 and Fergus Falls (5-7) 11-4 on back-to-back nights April 22 and 23 and Alexandria (4-8) in two games April 25. St. Cloud beat the Cardinals 9-0 and 7-5. The streak nearly lasted six games but the Spuds scored four runs on two walks and four hits in the seventh inning after a long week for the Crush.

In the five games, senior Elise Hausmann was  7-15 with six runs scored and six RBI. She had two doubles and a two-run home run against Sauk Rapids and had four Ks on the week.

Sophia Hess

Sophia Hess had RBI and four runs scored. She didn’t log any strikeouts or walks in the three games. Hess also has a team-high 1.308 OPS this season, boosted by an eye-popping .808 slugging percentage.

Lola Jacobs 

St. Cloud junior pitcher and outfielder

Junior Lola Jacobs shouldered four starts for the Crush last week, going 3-1, finally losing on her last game of the week in Moorhead. Still, her effort against the Spuds showed, she had 14 Ks and only allowed two runs until the final inning. In all, Jacobs put 21 2/3 innings on her arm, dicing up 24 batters and giving up nine runs on 18 hits. All six earned runs on the week came in that last inning against Moorhead.

At the plate Jacobs was 5-15, hitting four RBI and scoring three times with three walks. She struck out twice.

Camryn Kenning 

St. Cloud senior right fielder

Senior Camryn Kenning was outstanding last week, blasting homers in three straight games and several extra-base hits with just one strikeout. She was 9-14, hitting nine RBI and scoring seven times.  Kenning had a solo homer against Sauk Rapids, a double and a three-run shot against Fergus Falls and two doubles, a triple and a two-run dinger in two games against Alex.

Maggie Primus

With hits in all three games for ROCORI, Maggie Primus’ week was highlighted by a two-run homer against Willmar. She got two more RBI in the week, going 5-8 with five runs scored herself Primus also took three walks and struck out twice.

Lauren Soltis 

Holdingford junior third baseman

From the leadoff position, Lauren Soltis was shorted on RBI in five games, she just had one on 9-18 hitting. Soltis didn’t strike out at all last week, drawing two walks and scoring 10 times.

Ayla Young 

Holdingford senior infielder

Playing in four games last week, Ayla Young was .500 in 14 at-bats and led the area in scoring. She stepped across the plate nine times and hit 12 RBI for the Huskers, walking three times and striking out once.

Young got all of her four RBI against Upsala in the second inning, hitting a grand slam. She hit another one of her three home runs this year in the early game against Paynesville, a solo shot. She had five RBI in that game.

Boys tennis

Troy Nuest

In a 1-2 week for Becker, singles player Troy Nuest was a bright spot. He was undefeated in matches, going 3-0 with wins over Blake Reinbold of Mound-Westonka on April 22, Micah Gustafson of Cambridge-Isanti on April 23 and Ethan Carlson of Big Lake on April 25. The Bulldogs’ sole win as a team was a sweep of Big Lake. They lost 4-3 to Mound-Westonka and 5-2 to Cambridge-Isanti.

Nuest swept his Big Lake opponent and Gustafson was the only matchup to hand him a set loss. The match went 6-1, 4-6 and 6-4 in Nuest’s favor.

In all, Nuest went 40-16 in sets.

Team of Lane Stangler and Jack Worm

Going undefeated in five matches, the team of junior Lane Stangler and senior Jack Worm was unstoppable from the second position last week. The steady pair helped Foley go 5-0 as a team, only losing five sets across a week of competitions.

The Falcons swept Aitkin on April 23, and Cathedral/SJP on April 25, then Foley played three matches April 27 against St. Anthony Village, Coon Rapids and Rogers, beating the Huskies and Wildcats 6-1 and the Cardinals 5-2.

Stangler and Worm didn’t lose a game in the first match against Aitkin and only two in the first set against the Crusaders. They were also on their game at the tournament, winning their three matches 8-2, 8-0 and 8-1. In total, the Falcon pair went 48-5 on the week.

Owen Anderson

The St. Cloud Cathedral track and field team ran in two meets last week, April 23 at Pierz and April 25 at Apollo. Own Anderson ran at Pierz, winning the 800 with a time of 2 minutes,10.46 seconds, and placing second in the 100 with an 11.26.

Owen Angell 

Becker track and field junior pole vaulter, jumper and hurdler

In the pole vault, junior Owen Angell won Monticello’s invitational April 23 and placed fourth at Hamline’s Elite Meet on April 26. He cleared 14 feet, one inch at Hamline, a foot and an inch higher than the winning vault in Monticello.

Angell also won the high jump April 23 and took second in both hurdles events. He cleared six feet vertically and ran a 15.34 in the 110 and a 40.65  in the 300 hurdles.

Colton Clark

In ROCORI’s only meet last week April 23 in Willmar, Colton Clark ran a 23.71 in the 200 and placed first. He ran an 11.63 in the 100, placing fifth.

Nicholas Clark 

Apollo track senior mid-distance runner

Nicholas Clark won the 800 at his home meet Mary 2 at Apollo. He ran a 2:21.2, improving from a 2:23.51 and 19th–place finish in Monticello.

Kaleb Cremers

Kaleb Cremers ran a 2:05.32 and won the 800 at Willmar.

Gavin Crumley 

Albany senior track sprinter

On April 23 at Pierz, Gavin Crumley won the 400-meter dash with an even 54. He also ran a 29.93 and placed 16th in the 200. In his third event, Crumley was 25th in the 100.

Luke Dilley 

Sauk Rapids field junior vaulter

Competing April 27 at White Bear Lake, Luke Dilley won the pole vault with a run of 11-6

Blake Fleege 

Cathedral field senior pole vaulter

In two meets last week, pole vaulter Black Fleege cleared 12 feet, winning April 23 at Pierz, then a few days later at Apollo.

Carter Gross 

Holdingford track and field junior hurdler, jumper and runner

Carter Gross competed in three events April 23 at Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa, taking first in the 300 hurdles, second in the high jump and fourth in the 1,600. He ran a 44.21 in the 300 hurdles and a 4:48.35 in the 1,600. Gross cleared 5.8 in the high jump, just two inches off the winner.

Brandon Hall 

Holdingford junior sprinter

Brandon Hall won the 100 at BBE with a 12.14. He also competed in the 400, running a 54.81 and placing seventh.

Nick Hansen 

SJP track and field senior runner and jumper

St. John’s ran April 25 at Maple Lake, where Nick Hanson ran a 4:59.48 and took first in the 1,600. He also placed second in the triple jump, clearing 37-6 ¼. Finally, Hansen was 17th in the long jump.

Cole Hwang 

Cathedral track senior mid-distance runner

Cole Hwang won Apollo’s 200-meter dash with a time of 55.2.

Jacob Imdieke

Senior thrower Jacob Imdieke won the shot put at Monticello with a toss of 47-5 ½ and he threw the discus 116-6 ½, placing fourth.

Caleb Krattenmaker 

Holdingford track and field sophomore jumper and thrower

Caleb Krattenmaker won both the triple jump and the discus at BBE. He threw the discus 124-5 and jumped 38-1.

Ethan Kunstleben 

Apollo sophomore jumper and sprinter

At his home meet, Ethan Kunstelben placed first in the triple jump with a jump of 41-1. He also was second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.17. Earlier in the week, Kunstleben placed 12th in the 200 in Monticello.

Landon Lowe 

St. Cloud Christian track freshman hurdler and runner

Freshman Landon Lowe had three top-three finishes at Apollo. His 51.16 was first in the 300 hurdles and he placed third in the 800 and 1,600 with times of 5:26.2 and 2:37.96. Lowe also jumped 15-3 in the long jump, taking sixth.

Andrew McClellan

On April 25 at Big Lake, Andrew McClellan took first in the 200 with a time of 23.69 and second in the 100 with a time of 12.05.

Zach Meyer 

SJP senior track distance runner

Senior Zach Meyer’s 4:29.24 won the 1,600 on April 23 at BBE and on April 25 at Maple lake, Meyer ran a 5:25.64, placing  13th.

Dylan Mick 

ROCORI track senior mid-distance runner

Dylan Mick’s 53.27 won the 400-meter race April 23 at Willmar.

Grady Minnerath

Grady Minnerath improved on his Willmar meet-winning shot put by a foot and 10 inches for the Hamline Elite meet, but the throw of 55-7 placed third at the contest. Minnerath took second in the discus at WIllmar, spinning a 135-9 – only about four feet behind senior Isaac Cariveau from Detroit Lakes.

Evan Morris

Evan Morris ran the 100 April 25 in Kimball and again the next day at Hamline. He clocked in at 11.21 for first at Kimball and shaved nine hundredths off that time for the preliminary heats the day after.

Blake Newiger 

Cathedral track and field senior sprinter and jumper

Blake Newiger won two 200s last week, running a 22.78 at Pierz and a 23.77 at Apollo. He also won the 100 at Apollo with a time of 11.53 and was eighth in Pierz’s long jump competition.

Aiden Pellett 

Holdingford track senior mid-distance runner

Aiden Pellet won the 400 on April 23 at BBE with a time of 52.27.

Elijah Preisler

Elijah Preisler took first in the 3,200 on April 25 at Apollo, clocking in at 11:31.34.

Eli Psyck 

Royalton track senior mid-distance runner

Eli Psyck ran two tough 800 times, taking fifth in Kimball and first in Maple Lake. His time of 2:12.10 was nearly two seconds clear of the earlier effort.

Chaz Psyck

Sophomore Chaz Psyck’s time of 2:12.14 was first in the 800 on April 25 in the Eden Valley-Watkins-Kimball Invitational in Kimball. He also had the 25th fastest 100 time

Carter Reckelberg 

Becker track and field junior sprinter and jumper

Carter Reckelberg won the long jump at Hamline and the 200-meter race at Monticello. Running a 22.6 to win the race, he also placed second in the Stars’ 100 with a time of 10.78 and fourth in the triple jump (40-8).

At Hamline, Reckelberg cleared 22-9 to win the long jump and he sprinted an 11 flat in the 100-meter dash, good for eighth.

Gavin Sales 

Holdingford track and field sophomore hurdler and jumper

Sophomore Gavin Sales competed in the 110 hurdles, 300 hurdles and long jump at BBE, adding the triple jump to his load in Maple Lake. His best finish was first in the 110 with a 16.31 at BBE. He took second at Maple Lake with a similar time. Sales’ 300 times slowed from 45.70 to 46.89 and his place slipped from third at BBE to ninth in Maple Lake. But, his long jump improved from 17-3 to 18-10 ¼, moving his finish from eighth to fifth.

In the triple jump, Sales placed seventh

Landon Schwab

Freshman Landon Schwab placed first and second in the 110 and 300 hurdles at Apollo. He ran times of 24.31 and 1:01.6.

Carter Schwalbe

Carter Schwalbe won the 1,600 on April 23 at Pierz with a time of 4:45.30.

Brody Sieben 

ROCORI track sophomore mid-distance runner

Brody Sieben won the 1,600 on April 23 at Willmar with a time of 4:46.51 and placed fourth in the 800, clocking a 2:14.52.

Mitchell Soltau

Mitchell Soltau had two podium finishes April 25 at the John Reimer Classic in Pillager – first in the 100 and thrid in the 200. He clocked an 11.77 in the shorter race and a 24.48 in the 200. Soltau also placed ninth in Pillager’s long jump.

Liam Spychala

Competing in three events at Maple Lake, Liam Spychala won the triple jump, placed 14th in the discus and 25th in the shot put. His triple jump distance was 37-11 ½.

Will Steil

Will Steil won the 100-meter dash April 23 at Willmar with a time of 11.25.

Eaen Sticha

Senior Eaen Sticha won the pole vault in Kimball with a clearance of 10-9.

Charlie Sundell

Junior Charlie Sundell was first in the discus and second in the shot put for Sartell on April 25 at Big Lake. He threw a 140 flat in the winning event and a 42-5 ½ for silver.

Ismael Traore 

Tech field senior jumper

Senior Ismael Traore jumped vertically and horizontally in Monticello and Kimball. He won the triple jump in Kimball with a leap of 40-9 and placed seventh in Monticello with a 39-2. Traore was 17th in the high jump in Monticello and 12th in Kimball.

Grant Tylutki

Grant Tylutki won the long jump at Willmar, beating senior Teammate Noah Johnson by several inches with a 19-11. Tylutki also placed fourth in the 100, finishing in 11.6.

Logan Ylinen 

Apollo track eighth-grade runner

Middle schooler Logan Ylinen won his home 1,600 with a time of 4:55.62 and he placed third in the 400 with a 58.54. Later that week in Monticello, Ylinen ran a 5:03.23 in the 1,600 and placed 12th.

Salayna Allen 

Becker track freshman sprinter

Freshman Salayna Allen took first in the 100 on April 25 in Pillager with a time of 13.42. She also clocked a 29.41 in the 200, good for 12th.

The Becker girls team also nearly swept the relays April 25 in Pillager, placing first in the 4x100 meter relay with a 52.34, first in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:50.32 and first in the 4x400 with a 4:15.31. The Bulldogs did not enter the 4x800 race.

Addie Beier

Addie Beier placed first in the 100 on April 25 in Kimball with a time of 12.81.

Rilee Breth

Rilee Breth had a first-place finish in the 100 hurdles at BBE, her best finish in four events across the week. She clocked a time of 15.98 in the win, also placing third in the 300 hurdles with a time of 50.92 and fourth in the high jump with a leap of 4-10.

She placed sixth in the long jump at Maple Lake with a leap of 14-9 ½.

Ella Duevel

Ella Duevel swept the throwing events in Kimball. She won the discus with a throw of 111-9 and the shot put with a toss of 37-9.

Aubrey Flyn

Aubrey Flynn won the shot put April 25 at Big Lake with a throw of 33-6.

Kayla Forster

Junior Kayla Forster’s best finish in three events April 23 at Pierz was first in the long jump. She cleared 14-10 ½ in the event and took fifth and seventh in the 400 and triple jump witha time of 1:05.62 and a jump of 27-7.

Sophia Hennen

Sophia Hennen took two podiums at Willmar. Her 12.98 won the 100 and her 51.82 took third.

Makenna Hohbein

Makenna Hohbein competed in the shot put, triple jump and discus at BBE and in Maple Lake. Her best finish was a first-place 30-10 toss in the shot put April 23 in BBE, later throwing four inches shorter for a third-place medal in Maple Lake. At BBE Hohbein triple jumped 29-8 ½, placing second. In Maple Lake, she jumped 2 ¼ inches further but placed fifth. She was also fifth in the discus at the meet with a throw of 87-5. She threw an 87-1 for fourth at BBE.

Emma Jamison

Emma Jamison ran a 6:11.71 in the 1,600 on April 25 at Apollo, placing first.

Destinee Jones

Destinee Jones had three podium finishes for Cathedral. She took first in the long jump and second in the triple jump April 25 at Apollo after placing fourth and third in the events April 23 in Pierz. Both distances improved, her long jump increasing from 14-3 ½ to 14-11 ¼ and her triple jump going from 30-1 to 31-10.

Paige Larsen

Senior Paige Larsen won the 800 at Willmar with a time of 2:28.12 and placed second in the 1,600 with a time of 5:32.62.

Zili Lenzner 

Apollo track freshman mid-distance runner

Freshman Zili Lenzner won the 800s at Monticello and Apollo with times of 2:28.11 and 2:37.37. She also placed second in her home 400 with a time of 1:03.41.

Aubrey Lesnau

Sophomore sprinter Aubrey Lesnau had two wins at Apollo and two second place finishes in Pierz. She runs the 200 and 400 and clocked times of 29.33 and 1:02.49 in St. Cloud and 27.63 and 1:03.47 in Pierz.

Carly Mitchell

Carly Mitchell won the long jump at BBE with a run of 15-8, better than her second-place jump later that week at Maple Lake where she cleared 16-4 ½. Mitchell also ran the 100 and 800 at BBE, placing second and third with times of 14.08 and 2:33.67.

Addie Mondloch

Addie Mondloch ran a 1:02.99 in the 400 on April 23 in Pierz, placing first.

Brooke Mushatt

Brooke Mushatt’s 125-6 1/2 won the discus April 27 at White Bear Lake and her 33-6 won the shot put. The day before her discus throw of 131-1 placed second at the Hamline Elite meet.

Amelia Newiger

Seventh grader Amelia Newiger placed first in the 100 and second in the 200 at Apollo with times of 14.05 and 29.77. She also ran the 200 at Pierz, her 28.36 placing fifth.

Ava Novak

Ava Novak’s 9-9 vault won the event April 25 at the Kimball meet by a foot.

Emily Novak

In Kimball, Emily Novak won the long jump and triple jump with distances of 16-8 3/4 and 34-9 ½. She was behind Ava Novak in the pole vault in second place.

Olivia Pauly

Olivia Pauly’s time in the 3,200 at BBE of 11:07.36 was first by over 40 seconds. She also competed on back-to-back days in the 1,600 at Maple Lake and Hamline, placing first and eighth with times of 5:05.47 and 5:05.23. At Hamline she was about 20 seconds off the winner from Hutchinson.

Greta Peterson

Greta Peterson won the high jump at Apollo and Pierz with flops clearing 4-10. At Pierz she also placed third in the 100 with a time of 13.68.

Katherine Reuter

Katherine Reuter ran a 2:32.33 in the 800 April 23 in Pierz, winning the event.

Claudia Ruzanic

Claudia Ruzanic won the triple jump at BBE with a distance of 30-5. She took fifth in the 800 with a time of 2:34.

Olivia Sauer

Sprinter Olivia Sauer took first in the 200 in Kimball with a time of 26.11. She also competed in a preliminary heat of the 100-meter dash at Hamline.

Clara Schad

Clara Schad took first in the 3,200 distance race in Pierz by nearly 40 seconds, running 11:28.

Brianna Schneider

Brianna Schneider swept the throwing events at Willmar, putting the shot 37-11 ¼ and throwing the discus 106-10.

Jasmine Sieben ran a 1:01.46, winning the 400 at Willmar.

Lainey Stavish finished the 200 in 27.57, winning the event April 25in Big Lake. She also placed third in the long jump with a leap of 16-2.

Kailey Thompson

On April 25 at the John Reimer Classic in Pillager, Kailey Thompson ran a 48.95 in the 300 hurdles, placing first. She took third in the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.33.

Kate Van Erp

Junior Kate Van Erp had three podium finishes in Willmar, winning the 200 with a time 27.16. She placed second in the 100 by two-hundredths of a second, running a 13 flat. Then she took second again in the triple jump, clearing a distance of 34-9.

Julia Vega

In Pierz, Julia Vega’s 27.59 was first in the 200 and her 1:03.68 was third in the 400.

Mara Wahlin

Mara Wahlin picked up two triple jump wins last week in Pierz and at Apollo and the junior finished on the podium at both meets in the long jump. In the triple jump Wahlin cleared 32-6 in Pierz and 32-9 ½ in St. Cloud. She improved her other jump from 14-6 to 14-10 ¾, winning third and second in meets.

Aurora Walberg 

Royalton track and field junior sprinter and high jumper

Junior Aurora Walberg won the 100, 200 and high jump in Maple Lake, then placed second in the events in Kimball. Her 100 time went from 13.45 to 13.03, her 200 time increased from 26.73 to 27.03 and her high jump decreased from 5-3 to 5-1.

Layla Wenderski

Albany’s Layla Wenderski cleared 4-10 in the high jump April 23 at Pierz, tying for first. She was also second in the 100 hurdles, clocking a time of 18.05.

Chelsea Willenbring

On April 23in Willmar, Chelsea Willenbring won the 300-meter hurdles and placed second in the 200-meter dash. She was timed at 50.86 and 27.94 in the events, also placing fifth in the 100 hurdles.

Lauren Woelfel 

Becker track and field senior vaulter, hurdler and runner

Lauren Woelfel won the pole vault April 23 at Monticello by a foot, clearing 10 feet, then going nine inches higher on April 26 at Hamline. She placed fourth at the elite event. Also at Monticello, Woelfel ran the 100 hurdles in 17.51, placing fourth and she took seventh in the triple jump.
