Report: Warriors’ Jonathan Kuminga has lost faith in coach Steve Kerr

When the Golden State Warriors surged to a double-digit lead over the defending champion Denver Nuggets, Jonathan Kuminga was at the center of it.

Kuminga tallied 16 points on 16 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field to go along with four rebounds and four assists in 19 minutes. However, when the Nuggets went on their 25-4 run in the fourth quarter to steal the game against the Warriors, Kuminga was on the bench.

The 21-year-old forward wasn’t on the floor for the final 18 minutes of the game. Kerr appeared to stick with Andrew Wiggins down the stretch instead of going back to Kuminga.

Following Kuminga’s lack of playing time in Golden State’s collapse against Denver, the former No. 7 overall pick is reportedly losing faith in his coach.

According to Shams Charania and Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Kuminga has “lost faith” in Steve Kerr. Kuminga no lo nger believes that Kerr will allow him to reach his full potential, per Charania and Slater.
