Report: Texans met with Ohio State QB C.J. Stroud at NFL combine

The Houston Texans continue to evaluate their strategy for their No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft.

According to Aaron Wilson from KPRC-TV, the Texans have met with Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud at the NFL combine Thursday.

The meeting with the Texans indicates Houston is getting as much intelligence as possible on the quarterback class in April’s draft.

Houston has been linked with Alabama signal caller Bryce Young throughout the process. Young is an undersized quarterback in the mold of Drew Brees and Kyler Murray while Stroud represents a more traditional approach to the position.

Stroud led the Buckeyes to an 11-2 record and a berth in the College Football Playoff semifinals where they lost 42-41 to Georgia on a missed field goal as time expired. Stroud went 23-34 for 348 yards and four touchdowns against the eventual national champions.
