Report: Spanish forward Michael Caicedo invited to NBA draft combine
Michael Caicedo, a 6-foot-6 forward with Coviran Granada of the Liga ACB, has been reportedly invited to participate in the 2023 NBA draft combine on May 15-21, according to Marca.
Caicedo, who was born in Inca, Spain, was named to the All-ACB Best Young Players team after averaging 3.8 points and 1.7 rebounds in 22 games. He began the season with Barcelona and was then loaned out to Coviran Granada in January.
He produced his best game on Feb. 5 with 15 points.
Caicedo has previously represented Spain in several international competitions, most recently last year in the FIBA U20 European Championship. He averaged 9.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists to lead Spain to the gold medal.

The 19-year-old isn’t currently projected to be drafted but earning an invitation to the combine indicates there is strong interest among teams to watch him in the scrimmages, strength and agility testing and other related on-court exercises.
However, he may not be guaranteed to compete in the event.
His season with Coviran Granada runs through May 13 and he would need permission from the team to participate. Some clubs have prevented players from leaving early to compete in the combine so his status will likely be decided at a later time.
In any case, Caicedo will eventually have the opportunity to compete in private workouts. He is on teams’ radars at this point of the process and is a player to monitor that could rise up draft boards ahead of the draft on June 22.
