Veteran NFL safety Eric Weddle is joining the Los Angeles Rams just days after being released by the Baltimore Ravens, according to multiple reports.

NFL Network reports that Weddle agreed to a two-year deal worth up to $12.5 million with a $10.5 million base.

A six-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro, Weddle is coming off three straight Pro Bowl seasons with the Ravens.

Before joining the Ravens in 2016, Weddle spent nine seasons with the San Diego Chargers.

Weddle retuning to SoCal

The 34-year-old will return to Southern California where he will have a chance to be a valuable defensive piece and veteran presence on a Super Bowl contender. He’ll join a secondary with fellow multi-time Pro Bowlers Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib.

It didn’t take long for Weddle to find a new home after being cut by Baltimore on Tuesday.

Weddle reportedly considered retirement and has previously said the the Ravens would be the last team he played for. An offer to return to Southern California to play for a contender was evidently enough to sway him.
