Report: Eagles give Wisniewski bonus to make up for missed incentive

The Philadelphia Eagles, still riding high on the team's first-ever Super Bowl title, reportedly did one of their key players a solid on Saturday.

Guard Stefen Wisniewski, who narrowly missed meeting the playing time requirements for a $250,000 incentive, will instead receive the money as a signing bonus for 2018, according to NFL Network's Mike Garofolo.

Wisniewski was hampered late in the season by an ankle injury but was able to help carry the Eagles on their playoff run. He was hurt early in the team's Super Bowl win against the Patriots, leaving the game for a stretch before returning to the lineup.

The Eagles will reportedly take cap hits of $125,000 each of the next two seasons because of the bonus.

Wisniewski, who moved from center to left guard when he joined the Eagles two seasons ago, started 11 of the 14 regular-season games he played in this season. He played in all three of the Eagles' playoff games.

The 28-year-old was a second-round pick of the Oakland Raiders in 2011.
