Ravens slated to have over $25 million in cap space during 2023 offseason
The Baltimore Ravens enter a very important offseason that will be filled with major questions. Some of the key talking points are around the status of quarterback Lamar Jackson, who the team’s next offensive coordinator will be, as well as how Baltimore will address major positions of need.
On Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported that the league informed teams that the salary cap for 2023 will be $224.8 million, which comes in as a new record. For comparison, the 2022 salary cap was set at $208.2 million, which makes the number in 2023 around a $16 million jump.
The NFL informed teams today that the 2023 salary cap will be a record $224.8 million per club, sources tell me and @RapSheet.
That’s up from $208.2 million in 2022, $182.5M in 2021 (COVID adjustment), 198.2M in 2020 and $188.2M in 2019.

With that number in mind, the Ravens are slated to have around $27.8 million in cap space, according to Brian McFarland of Russell Street Report.

According to McFarland, he $27.8 million number takes into account the extension for inside linebacker Roquan Smith, escalators for wide receiver Devin Duvernay and defensive lineman Justin Madubuike, incentives for defensive lineman Calais Campbell, cornerback Marlon Humphrey and tight end Mark Andrews, as well as the nine practice squad players that were signed to 2023 contracts.
