Ranking Tennessee’s top-five sports championships during 2021-22 academic year

The University of Tennessee competes in the following NCAA sanctioned sports: Baseball, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, football, men’s golf, women’s golf, rowing, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, men’s tennis, women’s tennis, track and field/cross country, and volleyball.

Tennessee also competes in club-level sports.

The Vols’ baseball contest against Notre Dame in the NCAA Tournament Knoxville Super Regional concluded competition for Tennessee teams during the 2021-22 academic year.

Tennessee’s 2022-23 academic year competition is slated to begin Aug. 20 with the Lady Vols’ exhibition volleyball match against Belmont.

Women's swimming and diving SEC championship

The Lady Vols swimming and diving program won the Southeastern Conference championship for the second time in three seasons. Tennessee won the conference title with 1313.5 overall points, Feb. 15-19, at the SEC championships.

Women's soccer SEC Tournament championship

Tennessee finished 20-3 during the 2021 season. The Lady Vols defeated Arkansas, 3-0, in the SEC Tournament championship game on Nov. 7, 2021.

Baseball SEC Tournament championship

Tennessee finished the 2022 season 57-9 and won the Southeastern Conference regular season and tournament championship. The Vols defeated Florida, 8-5, in the SEC Tournament championship game on May 29.

Men's basketball SEC Tournament championship

Tennessee finished 27-8 during the 2021-22 season. The Vols defeated Texas A&M, 65-50, in the SEC Tournament championship game on March 13.

Rugby national championship

Tennessee’s club rugby team won the national championship, defeating Bowling Green, 36-31, in the 2021 Fall Division I Collegiate Club Rugby Championship on Dec. 4, 2021. The Vols (11-0) outscored its opponents, 373-127, and recorded three shutouts in 2021.
