Raiders win on last-second FG, beat Browns 16-14
In one of the strangest games of the season, the Raiders beat the Cleveland Browns on Monday afternoon 16-14. The game-winning play was a 48-yard field goal by Daniel Carlson with no time remaining on the clock.
The Raiders held the lead for most of the game before allowing a touchdown to Harrison Bryant late in the fourth quarter. On the next drive, Derek Carr threw an interception that nearly ended the game. It was an errant throw to Zay Jones that was intercepted by Greedy Williams.
But on the next drive, the Raiders got a stop and had enough time to drive down the field for the game-winning field goal. The biggest play was a 15-yard reception to Zay Jones that put the ball at the 30-yard line. That allowed the Raiders enough time to spike the ball and set up for the field goal.
The defense played outstanding for the Raiders as they allowed just 236 total yards. They surrendered just 13 first downs and got stops when they absolutely needed them.
The Raiders improve to 7-7 on the season and are right in the playoff hunt in the AFC. Up next are the Denver Broncos in Las Vegas. The winner of that game will sit at 8-7 and in a good spot to steal a Wild Card berth in the AFC.
