"He's got no fear and I think because of that he's he's earned the respect of the guys in the locker room and really impressed the staff and he's earned the right to start," Walters said.
∎ Walk-on Devin Mockobee emerged as Purdue's top running back in 2022, rushing for 968 yards (5.0 per carry) and 9 TDs. He also had 32 receptions.
∎ T.J. Sheffield had 46 catches for 480 yards and 4 TDs in 2022.
∎ Defensive back Cam Allen had 49 tackles, 3 interceptions and 6 defended passes.
∎ Kydran Jenkins had 4 sacks in 2022.

∎ The Bulldogs return several key defensive players, including lineman Devo Bridges (43 tackles, 6.5 for loss), and linebackers Malachi Langley (67 tackles, 2 INTs) and Morice Norris (55 tackles, 8 for loss).
